We booked the Hot springs tour and had Artie as our captain. He was wonderful and on the way to the hot springs he took us out to where Orcas had just been spotted and we got to see a pod of them. Artie was very knowledgeable about all of the wildlife in the area and it was great to... More

Was a little anxious about the trip as I'm not the best in a boat and was concerned about the whales welfare and intruding on them. However Artie did a really good job making sure everyone felt and was kept safe. Great to have an open boat where I didn't feel hemmed in and with only 10 of us on... More

Dear Gillian B, Thank you for the wonderful review. It's great that you were able to view transient orcas on your recent tour. While we see orcas here frequently it's certainly not an every day sighting so you're very lucky to have experienced this. Providing a tour that is enjoyable and educational for guests while being respectful of wildlife is... More

It is not a cheap excursion for a family but well worth it. We were looked after by Howie who provided marvellous insights into the local sealife and found us Orcas, seals, otters and grey whales. A smashing afternoon out and felt generous with the time. Good speeding as well for the teens.

We had a unique experience on our tour. Our guide Howie did an amazing job of driving his boat. Giving us some exciting moments on the water. He was able to find some good spots to view wildlife. His patience paid off when we were able to see a young Humpback whale showing her playful side to us for about... More

The best trips of Vancouver Island! Great people, great guides, small boats and a lot of respect for the animals. Today we saw a humpback whale jumping out of the water for at least 20 minutes. We were so happy, it was amazing! The bear watching was also great. Beautiful black bears near the small boat. And at that moment... More

Dear Ellen v, Wow! You were certainly very lucky to be able to see a humpback whale breaching! It really is a magical experience. The Bear Watching Tour is also very special. Viewing black bears in their natural habitat and being able to hear them crunch into the shells of crabs is unforgettable. Regards, The Whale Centre More

We booked on a late afternoon whale watching trip and there was only one other passenger. It felt like a private charter! The skipper was friendly and knowledgeable and we saw plenty of whales, as well as lots of other sea life and birds. The scenery was breathtaking. Well worth the trip.

Our choice for going with The Whale Centre was the cost that initially is a little lower than rival companies, combined with a discount coupon that they provided in a local Tofino/Long Beach guide pamphlet. This made the overall cost 20% lower than their competitors. The Whale Centre provided my wife, daughter and me with an adventure that was one... More

We were recommended to go on this trip by a lady at Lone Kone and we were not disappointed. The ride out was great and as I was sitting on the left of the boat I didn't get too wet! We saw Grey whales, a Humpback whale, some sea lions and sea otters. The whales were not very active unfortunately... More

In a word Excellent. We shopped around Tofino. Most (not all) prices are similar, for the same tour. We found this place while having fish and chips at Big Daddy's Fish Fry - it's next door. The prices here are a little cheaper. The Whale Centre runs a very efficient business and it is a tiny museum as well. We... More

Highly recommend. From the interactions with local booking staff to time on the boat (Boston Whaler) it exceeded our expectations. Sighted 3 gray whales, sea otters, stellar sea lions, seals, ospreys and bald eagles. John (captain) was knowledgeable, but not overbearing or chatty for no reason. Would book again if in Tofino!
