The Blue Horse Folk Art gallery was built by two Salt Spring Island artists, Anna Gustafson and Paul Burke. This charming space houses their most recent works of art, and is open to the public. Anna's raku vases and lamps are always in stock, along with her other projects, including gorgeous encaustic paintings. Paul's folk art animal sculptures are joined by his narrative works, including the acclaimed Mrs. Drysdale's Circus collection.Come and enjoy the gallery, see the artists in their studios, and enjoy the beautiful gardens.

Outstanding property, beautiful sculpture and equally delightful paintings. It was a bit out of the way but it was delightful. The owners were nit there but our guide walked in and took us around.

Anna Gusafson, the painter and her husband Paul Burke, the sculptor have been presenting their original art since they built their own home and studio on acreage on the north end of Salt Spring Island more than 20 years ago. Their work fills a good-sized cottage studio and Paul’s sculptural animals overflow into the garden and parking lot. Paul Burke... More

A little hard to find, but the exhibits are very interesting. If only we were rich enough to buy some of the artifacts!

Glimpses of the Ghost Salmon tucked in the forest as you come up the drive way to the gallery is what caught my attention. Blue Horse gallery is such an enchanting space full of creative beauty. This is a must see when visiting the island.

The Blue Horse is on ill of our tours with house guests. Such a unique gallery, set in a tranquil garden setting. Paul and Anna's work is intriguing and eclectic. This is not "island kitsch" although many of the sculptured pieces are whimsical. Often, we are loans in the gallery, but a convenient bell brings the artists running from the... More

Anna & Paul have created a magical place, even in February! My husband and I went for a Valentine's weekend get-away and stayed in the unit above the gallery. It was bright, clean and beautifully decorated with Anna's artistry in many of the details. We loved it and look forward to returning soon! Paul & Anna are such wonderful hosts.... More
