Had a great day on the waters with April. She was super knowledgeable and fun to be around. Saw tons of wildlife! A lot more than we expected to and were super happy about that. Even though it rained on the later half of our canoeing trip it didn't rain on our parade! Would highly recommend the full day trip for those who want a great upper body workout and see plenty of wildlife along the way :)

We booked a canoe trip online after our “adventure tour” with a large company was cancelled at the last minute. It turned out to be to our distinct advantage as we spent a great morning on a private canoe tour with Chris.
He is a self-assured and experienced guide who is knowledgeable and confident in the canoe and on land! We learned a lot about the area and nature’s bounty on the coast. He even added a quick walk to see salmon jumping at a nearby damn when I expressed an interest.
The arrangements were easy and the hospitality perfect. We highly recommend connecting with April and Chris for any outdoor exploring when in Rupert!

I was lucky enough to experience a "big canoe adventure" with April and Chris as part of a women's retreat at Cassiar Cannery. Fifteen of us were guided by April and Chris around Lelu Island. I was so impressed with the professional enthusiasm and local knowledge which Chris and April shared with us. It was a really fun outing and the strong winds and big swells did nothing to dampen our adventure! I would strongly recommend April and Chris as guides.

Had a wonderful hike near Kiwanis Trail in Prince Rupert to a pretty waterfall with Chris and April. Rugged terrain, beautiful rain forest! Chris and April were great! Very personable. They thought of everything. Chris even took my picture for me. They provided the necessities: walking stick, gators (coverings for the legs), bottled water and even a healthy snack! It was great meeting these folks and getting to know more about the landscape and the Prince Rupert area. Highly recommend. Some steep terrain so make sure you can handle the climb!

An incredibly enjoyable outing for the 4 of us (two oldies and two 30-somethings) was renting a 4-person canoe from April at Outer Coast Outfitters. April dropped us at Taylor Lake which links to Lake Prudhomme not far from Prince Rupert. She did a great job of instructing us - we found it easy to navigate and very relaxing to paddle to a gorgeous picnic spot in what we thought was an absolutely lovely environment. A great way for 4 Scots to get a sense of Canada's wilderness, and an unforgettable outing!

As part of the Cassiar Cannery women's retreat we got to be taken out on a canoe adventure by Outer Coast Outfitters. We were collected from our accommodation and driven to the boat launch in Port Edward. With the help of our two guides we got to paddle as a group on a large canoe around Lelu Island. It was a fantastic experience and we got to see blue herons, kingfishers, sand pipers and eagles as well as a black bear and porpoises. The guides were friendly and knowledgeable pointing out sights of interest and sharing stories along the way. It was a fun experience and I would definitely recommend this to others :)

I escorted 6 guests off our cruise ship on a hike led by Owners/ husband-wife team of Chris and April. It was a gorgeous. It involved a bit of scrambling but Chris and April made sure everyone felt safe. You really felt like you were getting a local experience.
Their knowledge came from Chris living in the area. Many tours feel like they're led by someone who reads a script. Well worth the trip!

Even though it was raining during our canoe trip, we had a lot of fun. We stopped in a small beach and set up a bonfire and had some snacks.
It was a nice and fun adventure and we highly recommend it to everyone going to Prince Rupert.

April and Chris took 12 ladies on a paddling trip around Lelu Island, it was beautiful, a perfect day. Paddling skills were at all levels but it all works! A very nice young couple with lots of enthusiasm and a great way to discover the pacific coast up close and yes there is the possibility of seeing wild animals, sea and bird life!

Did the Big Canoe as part of women's retreat at Cassiar Cannery. I was really impressed with April and Chris's knowledge and expertise. The big canoe was really a neat experience. Even the wind didn't blow our good time.
A canoe trip around Lelu island was an experience I will never forget.
I would highly recommend the Big Canoe by April and Chris anytime!
