We liked this museum because it provides information and artifacts without overwhelming our brains. The written information artfully weaves First Nation's history with that of white explorers/settlers. One interesting exhibit shows old films depicting the history of the area--halibut fishing, laying rails, etc. And the...More

The lady in the gift shop is a font on knowledge. If you had questions about the symbolism or significance of various elements of totem poles, ask this lady; she knows a lot!

Allow about an hour to visit the museum, which is a beautiful structure and well laid out and described exhibits. Thoroughly enjoyed it, and really glad we didn't skip it.

This museum provides many insights into the history of the native inhabitants over a long interval off their history. Their collection of potlatch masks is exceptional.

We visited MOA in Vancouver so I felt I knew a bit about First Nations culture. This is clearly smaller scale but also gives some history into the local area too since the arrival of the Europeans. The guy behind the counter was very helpful...More

Quick look round on a rainy day - good value at $8 pp - well laid out with a natural progression through the exhibition - as would be expected heavy on First Nation material -

Everything from traditional First Nations Art to information about the settlement of the area by Europeans. Really interesting with good labeling of artifacts. Large signs told overall story of things like settlement, transportation, technology and social change. However I would like to have learned more...More
