Ticket price doesn’t reflect to size and experience of the mountain. Maybe if it were to have a locals discount your would see more business and people there. It’s a ghost town most of the time.
It is a decent little hill to ride but for that amount of money I would only visit minimal amounts.

The ski hill is amazing but the resort is so mismanaged. The only restaurant open during the week plays loud music and is dark. The snow plow runs well after 11 PM with loud backup beeping.

We wanted to take a little getaway and had looked up some busier mountains but decided in the attractions at Apex that better suited our family. Our children are 6, 3 and 7 months old and are not skiers.
The mountain seemed to have family fun such as the hockey rink, sledding, tubing and an outdoor adventure skating loop all for decent prices.
We booked our 2 night 1 day getaway from Tuesday until Thursday and only after did we realize that tubing is only on friday night, Saturday and Sunday's to our disappointment. In saying that we misread so I guess it was our fault but the booking was done so that we couldn't cancel our trip. we tried to contact the resort to change our day and received a phone call back from the bookings person. We were going to try to switch the days of our stay but she said they were too booked up the days that we were going to try to switch and ensured us that it was Valentine's Day and there were TONS of activities and events going on up at the mountain during our stay so we decided to keep our original booking. Because of the trouble the booking woman stated she would see what she could to to make our stay more memorable because of the tubing and bringing our family up there.
Much to our surprise when we showed up at 4:30 and the parking lot, inns, and restaurant was completely DEAD! We received nothinig in the way of having our stay be more memorable. We stayed at Apex lodge in room 3 which we thought was a two room but turned out to be one room with a queen and a bunk bed. The rooms were decent and good enough for our short visit.
We went for dinner and returned tour room where we watched the olympics and played cards with our children. We pushed that night behind us and figured we would have a fun day the next morning.
Valentine's Day and it was snowing.
The parking lot was busier by the time we were all ready and out of our room and we decided to go to the adventure loop for some skating. When we arrived at the ticket office the woman told us that the skating was not really open at this time because it was snowing and the zambonie(sp?) only goes out once a day and she didn't know when he would go out. She tried very quickly to see if anyone knew to which the answer was they didn't and said we could go to the loop and have a look but that she wouldn't suggest skating due to the snow.
We were very disappointed that the skating was closed, after all we now had nothing for our children to do as the hockey rink was the same situation,
We returned to our room to eat our lunch which we had brought with us and watched more olympics and spent time as a family. After lunch we decided to take the kids to try skiing as that was really our only option. It only cost $12 per child and we got walking passes for the magic carpet. We strapped our baby to our back and walked the children down the hill. One man in the ski shop seemed a bit annoyed that he had to help us while the other was happy to run our money through.
The kids had some fun skiing and our three year old went down twice while our six year old went down three times.
We went upstairs to the little cafe to get drinks but were ignored at the counter so we left.
After that we checked out the "family" arcade which was games for teenagers other than candy claw games.
We talked to the ladies in the trading post who were happy to see us, smiled and answered our questions. The only three people who were smiling and happy to chat with our family our entire trip!
We returned to our room once again to watch more only pics and then went to a terrible Valentine's dinner at Gunbarrel (see other review).
The next morning we got up, packed and left the resort.
There were no extra events going on, it was dead on Valentine's Day and we were very disappointed in the waste of money it was to go up there, next time we will go to silver star, big white or sun peaks. The only reason I would ever go up to apex again was if I wanted to ski at a resort that is completely dead!

Came here for vacation during holiday season. There are two lifts. One small slow lift. The second is high speed quad, but worked only intermittently on day 1. Today, on day 2, it did not work. Was told by staff, the quad would probably not work tomorrow. If you are coming for a destination in the Okanagan, better to go to Big White or Sun Peaks.

This is a really nice hill to ski. A little out of the way but has a reasonable variety of runs. Great spot for beginner skiers to get their start but has the steepness and bumps to satisfy more advanced skiers. The on-hill village has accommodations. The Edge Cafe has good food priced reasonably which is a departure from most other ski hills. Epic snow coverage this year.

This hill is easy to access.
Not often crowded.
Hill is well laid out.
Intermediate family runs.
A bit pricey compared to Big White
Good for quick day trips or few runs while "just passing through"

This is the 3rd New Years we have stayed at Apex Mountain Inn w/our teenage boys. We love the ski-in and the free outdoor rink w/heated dressing room, both right beside the hotel, great for hockey players & skaters. You either look over the rink or the bottom of the mountain.
We had two adjoining rooms, one w/a kitchenette and one for the teenagers. The rooms are clean and pleasant, although a couple of things didn't work; the remote, coffee pot wrong size, & can opener that didn't open, otherwise no problems.
The restaurant in the hotel is quite good, we enjoyed breakfast & dinner there. Caretakers are great & helpful & available if needed. Extra security for New Years kept the hotel as quiet as can be expected for New Years. Fire works @ 7:00 for the little ones and then again at midnite was a nice touch.
The 1/2 day ski ticket isn't worth getting, might as well get the full day, and the night skiing is pretty much for beginners. The tube park is very popular, right beside the bunny hill w/night skiing, so a great evening place if you have small or just learning children or adults.
We always find Apex an enjoyable and relaxing vacation spot.

Despite the fact that apex is a relatively small ski hill it packs a good punch for its size! A triple chair on the far left of the resort offers great groomer/intermediate terrain and the quad offers great skiing over the rest of the hill! Snow conditions are usually pretty consistent and the weather is often great up there! I’d highly recommend the trees and some of the chutes and bowls if you’re an advanced skier!! Overall it’s a fantastic mountain and I love riding here!

Hi, we stayed at Riley's Cabin last year, 8 of us and loved it.!!Can you recommend/find a four bedroom house/unit for 8 adults from Dec 25 to Jan 3, 2016...just can't believe it's all booked!! THANKS, SLeporis
Hi,
We have just booked to go stay at Apex for a few days next week.
We are getting the Greyhound to Penticton but have just discovered the shuttle bus advertised on Apex's site is no longer running.
Is there an alternative way up to the resort like a ride share scheme? A taxi is around $100 one way which would double the cost of our trip!
Thanks,
Austin
