We’ve been on many personalized tours, but Savvy took it to a whole other level. Not only was she knowledgeable and personable, but she was super welcoming and made each winery feel like a friend base with every vintner. It was an experience to remember and I recommend it for anyone wanting a fabulous firsthand experience with the wineries!

Three wine connoisseurs and three wine connoisumers spent a most amazing day with wine Savant Savannah, and at the end of the day - everyone got more than they wanted and left with a beautiful wine 'glow'. Savannah picked us up at our hotel and invited us into her life long passion and history of working the land in vineyards across the globe, her education in Tourism and Vinology and building relationships with vineyard owners, restauranteurs and hotel owners/managers across the Okanagan valley. It is both her first hand knowledge and those personal relationships that Savannah has cultivated that made our day so special. We started our day at a vineyard where Savannah worked every job from the ground up for years. We met the owner and he opened one of his special bottles of wine for us - telling us the story of how the family that farmed grapes grew into a family that made award winning wines. That was the start of a day of personal highlights - invitations to the lives, passions and fruits of the labour of five unique wineries in the area. If you are just looking to drink a lot of wine at a low cost, this may not be the tour for you. If you are looking for a grape tour that transports you to the sacred process of cultivating, picking, crushing, fermenting, barreling and decanting grapes – then this is perfect. And for those of us that were not connoisseurs, we sure learned a lot about wines – no snobbery attached! I’m going back for another round next year!

Three couples, and we knew we wanted to start at the Naramata Inn and finish at the Burrowing Owl and that we needed a lift back.
We lucked into Grape Savvy tours, run and owned by Savannah.
She created a wonderful itinerary, chose wonderful stops, was incredibly knowledgeable and fun.
If you’re thinking of a wine tour, this is the one!
Savannah recently started a trolley tour, as well
We are so looking forward to going back and trying the Trolley.

Anger

Allow me to start off by making it clear- I am upset to be leaving a poor review to a small company. However, had someone else left an honest review detailing similar experiences to my own, I would not have booked with Grape Savy Wine Tours.

The major issue my group had with the company was the lack of transparency with pricing. We were told when booking that all tastings were included. After the fourth winery, the driver asked to speak to one of us privately,(which was an uncomfortable feeling) to communicate that we would have to pay for the remainder of our tastings. Apprehensive to argue, we agreed, albeit contradicting the previous agreement.

Some secondary issues arrived afterward. When we inquired about compensation for our tastings that we had paid for (On top of paying $160 each, in a group of 13), we were told that there will be no refund, as only tastings up to $400 are covered. Not once was this mentioned upon booking, which for a group of 13 would obviously happen quickly. I suppose if we had all booked individually the $400 in tastings would be far from an issue, so I am confused to see the logic in this reasoning.

The associate who refused our refund (or even a discount) also went as far as to tell us that we were unprofessional for eating cereal in between wineries, and that if we cannot afford tastings, then we should not be on a wine tour. She threw the blame back in our faces and claimed that a “responsible adult” would have read the terms and conditions. These comments are what has made me decide to leave this scathing review. I find it very unprofessional and rude to make these accusations. My frustrations are more directed at these comments, than the money not being refunded.

Another disclaimer I would like to make, is that I have worked in the hospitality/wine industry and have experienced many groups similar to our own. We did not drink much wine outside of the tastings besides two bottles split 13 ways at lunch. We were definitely having fun, but in my view it was not insanely disruptive. We also told the when booking that it was a bachelorette, so they could’ve declined our group prior to the tour if that was a concern.

Furthermore, we we’re told very little about each winery, the history of Naramata and the wine making process from our driver, who seemed to have been well versed in each subject. My assumption is he didn’t feel like putting in the effort.

In summary, we did not enjoy the hidden fees, being shamed, spoken down to, and a lack of information.

We booked Grape Savvy for a bachelorette party and I was expecting it to be good, but Grape Savvy blew me away! Savannah (Sav) was our guide, she was knowledgeable, full of life and personable. Sav seemed to know the wineries better than some of the pourers on the tour did! At one point at a winery, they even asked her a question we had, because she had worked on the actual vines! She is passionate about what she does and is well known in the community. I've already recommended her tour to all my friends. 10/10

Bonus: tour bus was super nice, and had AC.🙏

I am extremely disappointed in the wine tour experience. We were told during the 4th stop that the remaining tasting fees would not be covered and made to pay an additional fee on top of the $159 per person that we had already paid. When I called the owner to get clarification on this she said “this was clearly stated in the terms and conditions (which it was not) and that I am not a responsible adult for not reading the full document”. Overall would not recommend this wine tour and am extremely disappointed in the outcome. When I booked the wine tour I was very specific about our group and what we were looking for and than to have that thrown back in our faces as if it was our fault is unprofessional and rude. I also made it very clear we did not want to pay any additional fees so she could have communicated with me than that they would only be covering $400 of the tastings. For the price of $159 I do not think the value was there.

Not fun. If you enjoy having fun and a good time with friends, I do not recommend this tour. Management was rude and disrespectful- specifically after paying over 2000$- we were informed at the 3rd winery (out of 5), that we would have to pay extra fees. Not only was this absolutely ridiculous, they then insulted our intelligent and even had the audacity to comment on the food that we ate… when later confronting the company about our experience, they had no remorse and were extremely rude and failed to offer any sort of compensation or condolence.

Unfortunately our group did not have a great experience on this tour.
We were informed halfway through the remainder of the tour tastings would not be covered, yet we all paid $159 per person which is a lot considering we had only been to 3 wineries.
Afterward when speaking with the company about this confusing topic they said it was listed in the description (which it wasn’t originally & now has been added after a very unfortunate phone call with the company).
They were not professional or understanding about our concerns and actually insulted our group over the phone. The customer service was poor.
I have been on a wine tour before and there are much better options available that include all tastings.

We are 3 sisters who booked this private tour. Savannah picked us up from our hotel and had a little gift for each of us. We visited 5 wineries and had a sampling of all sorts of different wines. Each vineyard we went to had a different experience. We ordered the charcuterie lunch (worth every penny) and enjoyed that with a bottle of wine at one of our stops. Savannah is incredibly knowledgeable and shared plenty of information on each of the wineries. We truly felt special throughout the day. We’ll be back next year and will definitely book with Grape Savvy again.

Savvy was a lovely person to spend the day with. We have never been on a tour with so much personalization. She ensured we went to places that matched out tastes & styles. She's incredibly knowledgeable about the wine industry and timed all of our stops perfectly. Lunch was delicious and we really appreciated all of the special touches throughout the tour. We look forward to booking again!
