Just south of a street leading to Queens Park is a little gem called Tipperary Park. It is at the foot of Fourth Street and Queens Avenue. Many winding paths through tree covered waterways, small bridges and places to sit, abound which sets this park apart more as a botanical garden. The noise levels of Royal Avenue, just below the park are totally muted and walking is safe for the kids and family. It is wheelchair safe as well.

love the name but if you look at Queen's Park lots of Irish place names in the area, this park is fairly large for an urban park huge trees decades old, nice gardens, located near tennis courts and city hall

The Friendship gardens are a nice little park interwoven with many trails and ponds. It is a great place to just hang out for a while, or go for a stroll. It is a fairly small park, but it is beautiful with a trail weaving through the trees.

There have been a few times where I have been rushing around ,doing errands and end up close to this peaceful little park beside the New West city hall. It's a great spot to stop and smell the flowers and relax for a few minutes . I personally like the cute little Japanese style bridge .There are plants and trees with plaques stating what country gifted the flora to New West.
There is also a sign commemorating the sister cities of NW and a Philippine city .It's a great photo op for my Filipino friends who get a kick out of seeing the sign.At times they have even had the Philippine flag flying from the pole.

It's not a park you will visit for statues and fountains etc, more for just relaxing away from the city noise. There is a nice pond with ducks and I also saw a couple of quite tame black squirrels. There are stepping stones across the streams and it was all pretty much litter-free. In all very modest but quiet retreat.

This small park is a little gem in the midst of a busy neighbourhood in New West. It is very well maintained and on a hot day, provides a great place to stop, rest, or simply catch one’s breath. There are waterfalls, ponds, benches and a picnic area. A small walk takes you down beside the little stream of water, where you can cross a Chinese-type bridge or can jump from stone to stone in the middle of the water feature.

If you are hiking or biking across town, say from Queen's Park to the Quay, this is a great place to stop, rest, meditate, orr simply catch your breath. In addition to small waterfalls, ponds, and benches, it also has a picnic area. It may be small, but I find it a great place to stop on my trips through town, especially walking up those steep hills!

This park is situated on a hillside in New Westminster and their is a lovely little stream running down through the park. There is an interesting small bridge and I saw ducks in the pond.

They are setting up to do some construction on some of the surrounding trails in the park. I guess they try to get these things done in the months with less visitors.

I often take my dog for a walk in this park. I don't know that a lot of people know about it. It is very peaceful with a little stream running through it. Lots of benches to relax or bring a blanket and really relax. There is also a tennis court. In the summer is where the farmers markets are held. Just beautiful.
