I've been going to Pacific Breeze for around a decade but haven't been for several years. First of all, it is a purely a winery (can't remember what the French term is) as they do not grow any grapes. Instead, PB buys grapes (usually from California but also Oregon and Washington, and more recently from the Okanagan) from, they say,... More

Our group of four attended a paid group wine "tour" on the weekend. All four of us ( all europeans) found the verbal presentation good, but the wines tasted were "young". The presenter told us how the wine would be more palatable in four to seven years ( then why not sample a wine that was not obviously so "fresh")... More

This nondescript "garage" winery produces small batches with grapes from vineyards in Washington & California. The wine is really good with many award-winners!! We went to a private tasting a few years ago & enjoyed their wines so much that we became members of their wine club. They are open every day, so it's easy to drop in & taste... More

A small wine outlet that provides a 'club' atmosphere to get regular bottles of wine cheaper than just dropping in.

What a wonderful way to spend 90+ minutes! Tasting incredible wine, learning about this unique 'garage' winery and spending time with great friends. I bought the tour at a silent auction and wasn't really sure what to expect so we were more than pleasantly surprised! The knowledge of our guide was impressive as well. This is such a unique winery... More

unheralded gem in New West, this is one of the best 'Garista' wineries I have ever attended. Great wine maker and knowledgeable staff. Grapes are mostly from Cali, Wa and Oregon creating some of the best value wines in the province. Killer Cab is just the start. Try the Granache and the Merlot, a bit more but you will not... More

I recently attended a special barrel sampling of Pacific Breeze's 2011 GSM (Grenache, Syrah, Mouvedre) and their 2012 Killer Cabernet. The event was well attended and the comments were quite positive. Pacific Breeze Winery is a unique niche winery in New Westminster. Since it opened, not quite ten years ago, it has developed a growing number of die hard fans... More

I'll explain the title first then get into my review. I've seen a couple of reviewers complaining about the price of the wine and felt compelled to respond. Yes the wine is not cheap (750 mL bottles were in the $20 - 25 range). And yes you might be able to save a buck or two on comparable wines if... More

Wine tasting tour, a friend received a gift for four to do a wine tasting and tour. It was very interesting, loved the wine, and they gave good samples. Very enjoyable afternoon.

I think it is worthwhile for anyone interested in wine to take a winery tour in a stripped down industrial bay. Wine making is usually cloaked in the mystique of rolling vineyards and musty cellars but, those belie the real art of wine making which is applied chemistry. Where better to be reminded of that than at Pacific Breeze where... More
