We did a 3-day kayak with Wildheart Adventures from Telegraph Cove through the Johnstone Strait to the northern edge of the Robson Bight ecological reserve; it was awesome. Granted, we had perfect weather, and the wildlife (orca pods-4 sightings, humback whale-1 sighting, sea lion, Dahls porpoise, dolphin, black bear, and eagle) was incredibly available for watching, and that is impossible... My 13 year old son and I spent 3 days on Johnson Straight led by kind, funny, knowledgeable, passionate and very welcoming guides;Kim Crosby and Colin Coon ... outstanding orca encounters every day, plus porpoises, dolphins, a humpback, eagles, sealions and bears. A terrific wildlife experience amidst spectacular scenery whilst enjoying paddling pristine waters. The camp site was great and the food very... More

Spent the day Kayaking with Kym as our guide. I was a little nervous because it was my first time. However it was easy to get the hang of it. It was very relaxing and we got to see some cool rock formations, seals, and even hold a jelly fish. A homemade yummy lunch was provided. I would come back... More

Had a wonderful experience kayaking with Wildheart safaris and it's friendly & knowledgeable guide Kim Crosby. The kayaking takes place at a leisurely pace with Kim going out of his way to included everyone of the group in the experience. We saw some harbour seals and a variety of other wildlife. An excellent home made organic lunch was served on... More

It was an absolute pleasure to paddle with you and your lovely daughter. It is always a thrill to show off our wonderful DeCourcy Archipelago and it's stunning shoreline. I'm glad our little feast was enjoyed and hope that the cookie recipe is a big hit in the Netherlands! More

Sue Glenn, our guide for four days in the Broken Island Group, was many things: experienced, knowledgeable, funny, instantly engaging and trustworthy, hardworking (12 hour days starting with delicious breakfasts and ending with restaurant quality dinners!), easy-going, yet observant and professional. She was our mentor, coach, sherpa, teacher and mom. We had some challenging weather near the end of the... More

I cannot rate Wildheart highly enough. Just completed 3 day's kayaking out of Nanaimo amongst the Gulf Islands. Lucked out with perfect weather so we were able to put in long days which suited us. Our guide Alaina was competent, experienced, knowledgeable and totally flexible to our wants. We crossed to several islands and explored the shorelines, picnicked on deserted... More

So glad you enjoyed your time padding in our gorgeous Gulf Islands with your guide Alaina. It really shows that you don't have to travel to the far reaches of Vancouver Island to get away from it all. Safe travels back to Oz and hoping you can venture our way again sometime. More

Great to have paddled with you and glad that we were able to put together a custom "3 hour tour" on the water given your short stopover from your cruise. It's amazing with our water clarity the variety of intertidal marine life we can view from the vantage of our kayaks. Hope you can join us for a longer trip... More

What should you do in Nanaimo?! Go Kayaking! We booked a trip last minute and Kim did not disappoint! He took us across the water where we say seals, got to hold (yes hold) jellyfish, and see some awesome rock formations. Kim was very knowledgeable and super nice. All the equipment was clean and made me feel very safe. This... More

We picked this company randomly and we boy did we luck out! We were here on a cruise and chose not to book through the ship, but instead to risk going it alone, and hope we could find something as good as the cruise line sponsored excursions. We scored! The same length of tour through the ship was 1/3 more,... More
