We had a birthday party for young children at Monkido in Victoria where the kids had a great time in spite of minimal trained supervision/ guidance & issues with amenities. We decided to try the same course with a visiting young child. Our 3 were 2 - 10 year olds & an 8 year old but we were paired with... More

This place was amazing! It is treetop obstacle courses and zip lining! I don't naturally have a fear of heights, but I did that day! But the staff was AMAZING at keeping me calm. They are so wonderful there! There are swinging logs and rope bridges and rope walls, and slat bridges. Each level takes you higher up and is... More

We visited during a really hot period for nanaimo and truth be told, I'm sure most people were out enjoying themselves at lakes, the beach or anywhere remotely more refreshing than this. That being said, the absence of anyone else was a god send and my two young daughters were really able to enjoy and appreciate the junior section. A... More

My husband and I have recently visited WildPlay to go Bungy Jumping and do the Primal Swing. We booked a package though a hotel that gave us a discount at the park, which didn't really work out that well but that was the hotels problem over the parks problem. We didn't have a reservation (the hotel was SUPPOSED to set... More

Like many who have spoken honestly about this experience the pleasure is taken out of this activity by the long wait times, slow movement and the absolute and total absence of supervision. The course was backed up because a group of 70 morning visitors delayed the visitors behind them (our being 1 PM). Instead of balancing that delay be limiting... More

We were a group from 25 yo to 60 yo....diverse ages and genders. We had a lot of fun, but the tree zone is definitely not for the physically challenged, altho the 60 year old woman in our group had no troubles at all. They teach you the techniques in a very fun and friendly way, and you start low... More

My family went to WildPlay hoping to do one of the ziplines but they were fully booked until closing. Staff talked us into do the Monkido course instead. WARNING: this course is challenging! The staff really didn't warn us at all. I thought it was just an aerial course kind of like Capilano Suspension Bridge but more of an obstacle... More

I went to WildPlay with two friends to try the Zipline. We scheduled an appointment for 11:00, and two staff members came to greet us right on time, and began to explain what we were going to do, as well as explaining safety procedures. The staffers were Selina and Julie, and they projected an aura of competence and a joy... More

I booked my 13 year old and I in on the Classic course. We had done the one in Kelowna last year and he loved it so much that I made this a surprise for him when we were visiting the island. The online booking was straight forward and the next morning, when there was a thunderstorm, I phoned to... More

Hi Melsta, thanks for giving us your thoughts about risk management. Our standards for accessing the Monkido Classic Adventure Course are the same at all Parks; what I think was different during your visit to Nanaimo was that you had our standard harness equipment (used for guests age 12 and older). Now that your son is 13 years old, he'd... More

Our family of four (ages 10-40) enjoyed this experience immensely! Guides were knowledgable and confident, and gear was up to code and safe. Thanks WildPlay! :)
