hi, I believe that you don't need to reserve for walking on but double check on the BC Ferries web site to double check for summer time rules.

If you take the last ferry in or out the fee is extremely cheap. This is what we do. They have it posted on the ferry as well.

Common sense would suggest you go to BC ferries all the timetables are there
