The BC Wine Museum & VQA Wine Shop was opened 15 years ago with the intention to bring the history of the Okanagan Wine Region to the public, as well as to help teach the public about the vast wine industry in BC. Our shop sells BC Vintners Quality Alliance wines; which is a guarantee that you’re purchasing 100% BC Wine. We sell at winery prices and carry over 600 listings of wine from over 90 wineries. When you purchase wine from the BCVQA Wine Shop, not only are you supporting the Kelowna Museums Society, but you are also supporting local VQA Wineries.

The staff here are very knowledgeable. I was putting together a case of wine for a wedding present and was very impressed with the selection and advice.

We stopped there to buy some award winning wine as we had no time to visit the winery. We visited the Museum as well. Very interesting with old equipment and pictures. There was more than wine also as antique apple processing equipment and pictures were also on display.

After experiencing a great wine tour, I thought it would be fun to walk through the museum and learn more about the industry. So the next day I ventured in and was surprised that the museum was basically the back wall of the wine shop. Possibly I expected too much, but there certainly wasn't much to see.

Some artifacts and some historical text in the corner of a wine shop doesn't really cut it as a "museum". Fortunately was just a 5 min. walk from hotel, so wasn't a waste of,time in that sense.

So many wineries and so many wines to choose from and at the local winery prices. The staff are very knowledgable and helpful, a great way to try the wines but without having to drive to all the wineries. Our go to when time doesn't permit us to visit the winery itself.

Tasting are limited but free. You can shop for wines from anywhere in BC. Knowledgable friendly staff. Located in the city's downtown so definitely worth a stop.

If you love wine this is your place. They have wines from all over the Okanagan. So if you have been to a winery and don't feel like doing the drive simply stop by and buy it here. They offer free tasting now and then too so take advantage if they do offer it. They have a tiny museum at... More

Primarily a wine outlet store it is also a source of good information. Many of the wines can be bought at government liquor stores but you also get the local knowledge about specific wineries. One can ask questions about owners, name changes, and specific wine pairing suggestions. There are other items for sale related to to wine. They do some... More

All the area's wines to buy (in case you can't make it to all the wineries), local goods (food, gifts, etc), and some antique winery equipment with accompanying information plaques to read.
