Unfortunately this attraction is closing

Begun in 1986 from Expo buildings, the center is closing due to a lack of interest in native culture by visitors. It will be a real loss.

The hourly Guided tour is Highly Recommended. Otherwise you will miss out on most of what makes this such an excellent visit. The guide will reveal the symbolic meanings, stories and cultural significance woven into the totems and the buildings. The restaurant is "spartan" in its decor, but the food we sampled was very good, and reasonably priced. The staff,... More

I went to a conference here. The proprietors were accommodating, welcoming. the center is interesting, informative, peaceful and serene. The history of first nations people presented, their culture and art was wonderful.

This centre is large and can accommodate many people. The view of the river is good. The catering and facilities are good. Weddings and Memorial Services take place and Conferences. Have not eaten at the restaurant. This centre does not open until June. Unfortunately the centre may be closing due to not enough visitors and funding shortage. Such a waste... More

It could be nice if it was open more than by chance. Used to be have a good art shop. The restaurant if open has a good riverview location.

This definitely will teach you about the First Nation culture and also allow you to purchase hand made sweaters and crafts

A nice place to have a corporate function or product launch. Right off the highway and lots of parking.

Full of native culture and history and a must see in the Cowichan Valley. The beautifully carved totem poles and artifacts scattered around the well maintained grounds along the quiet Cowichan river offer such tranquility. The unique gift shop, theatre and little restaurant are all worth spending time in.
