There are a great number of antiques to look at. Lots of locally written books and nick knacks. If you have the time I suggest checking it out. We were there in the off season so we didn't see any "old" boats in the water.

This is a great find.. if you like boats and engines , then it's a must see.
The staff are just great, the items on display are wonderful.
I could go back again and again.
Free entry ,, but please put something in the book and the box to keep this wonderful heritage going.

Marina and some stores, plus a fine maritime museum well worthwhile spending time at. And a candy shop that has the best ice cream! They make their own, lots of flavors and alone worth the trip, mmhh mmhh good! Sorry, the ice cream after the museum pretty much took my mind off of anything else...

The centre is fairly modest but nicely done. What is really cool is just how charming Cowichan Bay is. Beautiful vista on the marina. Charming and authentic.

For us land lubbers this is an interesting place to visit. Lots of old boats, and models of boats and ships with and interesting maritime engine at the entrance. A must see when you are in town!

There is a great deal to learn and do at this Maritime Centre. It is not rushed or frantic just laid back enjoyable. Visits are by donation so be generous.

History, a rugged and moody sort of bay which unless you were looking for anything different would disappoint. We loved it - we walked, lost in thought, talked when words were necessary or there was something one of us missed. A "soak" up the atmosphere kind of place rather than an all out "beach, busy marina mecca" - this is for those people who have a love and respect for the sea, hard work and appreciation for the "not so shiny stuff."

very small, but it is free and if you give them a $5 donation for your whole family they are happy. Find out about the fish and birds in the area. A volunteer helped us with our questions

On a rainy cold day this was the prfect setting to explore Cowichan's maritime past. Lovely exhibits and history. Well worth a visit if you are in the area.
