My family of 5 did the Classic trip and I have done white water rafting before so was looking for a more extreme experience. However, my wife and 3 kids (10, 13, and 16) hadn't done it before and this trip is paddle rafting so the staff advised this was definitely the one for first timers. The river was still highish and when they saw my youngest and how light his weight was, he would have had more chance to be thrown out on a more extreme tour. When booking I was told all have to paddle but our guide knew immediately that my son wouldn't add a lot of power paddling and it would be safer for him to just hold on and enjoy the river so a big thumbs up to Fritz our guide who really knew his stuff and was so professional, helpful and good fun. I have done powered rafting and it's easier as just need to hold on. The advantage is you can redo rapids as you can power back upstream as well as getting good speed into the rapids. This paddling tour makes you feel more involved as a team working together to steer the raft so also has advantages.
The company could do with getting some new wetsuits. Most had holes in and mine had a big hole in the butt and knees so water could get in so not the warmest. They are also sleeveless ones and my 2 youngest were very cold by the end so definitely bring long sleeve underclothes. The wetsuits were also wet from previous use as they are stored in a jam packed wooden outhouse area so the ventilation is poor and will never dry the ones in the middle and back of the racks.
You have the option to not do the final section which are the biggest rapids but we did them and had the best time ever. I found the end class 3/4 rapids didn't toss the raft around enough so could've got more thrills but Fritz explained that the rapids are not classed on height and speed only but the risk if you fall in and these were scary rapids from that point of view.
The chilli lunch was great and all the staff friendly. This trip is definitely a must do and the number 1 favourite family activity of our 2 week holiday.
Also don't wear open beach footwear. There's some rocky areas to cross to get to the waterfall halfway into the trip and can easily stub your toes.

Yesterday we spent the day white water rafting with our river guide Reid and it was fantastic!!!! I can’t say enough good things about it - we all had such a great day and we were celebrating two birthdays and they will be birthdays none of us will ever forget! We ranged in age from 33 - 63 and were comfortable every step of the way even while falling out of the raft! The walk to the waterfall halfway through was a nice break from the river and a great photo op. Afterwards we were fed delicious chilli which seems an odd choice in July but we were so ready for a hot hearty meal afterwards so it was great. Things were running a little behind at the beginning but we were kept informed all the time about what was happening when and Russ even serenaded us on the Russ Bus just before departure to keep everyone happy. Well done Chilliwack River Rafting - we highly recommend this great adventure for everyone and we will certainly be back!!!!

My boyfriend, step-son and I stayed overnight Labour Day Weekend from Sunday, Sept 6/20 to Monday, Sept 7/20.
We arrived around 1:30 (for a 2:30 "CLASSIC" departure) as we were asked not to arrive any earlier for COVID 19 reasons.
We quickly set up our tent next to the river and were treated to a delicious chilli lunch by Russ.
We suited up in wetsuits/helmets etc and travelled by school bus to the raft launch location all required to wear masks on the bus ride. Our driver was a blast getting us to join in to singing some Queen songs. Two busses were used so that social distancing could be maintained.
At the launch site, we had a safety speech by the "safety kayaker" Larry who was very informative and funny at the same time.
We had a further safety speech and raft instructions from Cam, our raft guide. Our raft was the last in our group up the river in case there were any problems with the other boats, Cam was the go-to guy.
The water level was low so the ride was pretty smooth other than getting stuck on a few rocks where we proceeded to "bouncy castle" our way over them.
We stopped for a short hike up to a beautiful waterfall where Larry took some photos of the groups in the waterfall.
Before proceeding back down the river, we had time to play some raft games (ride the bull) and to cliff jump off a small cliff. My step son loved this!!
Cam made our experience on the raft fun and exciting!
We returned to the campsite to a curry chicken dinner which was delicious.
Sarah was incredibly sweet helping us set up a fire pit and find the firewood for the evening.
Later that night there was a talent show where guests were invited to come up and sing songs and play instruments with the staff. The instruments were wiped down each time for COVID reasons. That was an absolute highlight of the night!
Overall this was a perfect way to wrap up the summer with amazing hospitality, an awesome adventure on the raft, and overall great people!
We will definitely be back in the Spring when the water levels are higher. We hope to see the same staff then as they really made our experience unforgettable.

Overall, it was an enjoyable experience on the river, however, the company could definitely improve in their organization, communication, and overall professionalism. We waited about 2 hours from their recommended arrival time before we actually got on the boat. Additionally, there were no announcements as to why it was taking so long, when to start eating lunch, or when to get our gear on. Our guide was good but did not appear very confident. In addition, the safety talks prior to loading were quite fearmongering. After rafting, we waited a long time for them to get the bus to pick us up due to miscommunication between their staff members. Additionally, their staff lacked some professionalism (e.g. smoking on the trip, language use, aggressive nature). Needless to say, the whole excursion took about 5 hours but could've easily been done in 2 hours, if they were more efficient. The rapids were thrilling and the lunch was good though!

Our family had the BEST time with Chilliwack River Rafting. From our initial inquiry phone call to barreling down the river to the yummy lunch at the end of our experience, we had a fantastically fun time. All staff were very professional and make our experience fantastic. We especially loved our rafting guide, Kush, who is hugely experienced on the river and lead us with great enthusiasm, fun - he really added to the awesomeness of our experience. Our youngest is 10 years old and she had a blast! We can't wait to return in June next year when the water levels are higher to have an even more thrilling ride! I highly, highly recommend this trip with Chilliwack River Rafting!

Chilliwack River Rafting is THE BEST! I went with my partner and it was our first time rafting. The staff were incredible, super friendly, accommodating, knowledgeable. We had such a good time. Jodi and Tom were excellent as our guides and really made the experience. All the extra activities down the river too kept if entertaining and we even got some great pictures along the way. Would 100% recommend to anyone who has gone before or is new to rafting. We will be back again soon! Thank you =)

AMAZING! This was one of the most incredible experiences and I had no idea it was so close to home (Vancouver). We started the day with a pancake breakfast which was provided to us after which we got geared up and got on a bus to head up river to the launch. That was where we met our freaking awesome and incredible guide Connor (please give him at least 2 beers because my husband feels the same way!) who made my first trip down the river SO memorable! About half way down we stopped to hike out to a beautiful water fall and then continued to the end of the river. This time of year the water is LOW so I 100% am planning (and am already so excited for) my next trip with these guys come spring next year where I’d love to do both the classic with higher water and the canyon! Once we got back to land officially we hopped out and we’re served a delicious lunch of Chili, salad and buns with dessert. Freaking amazing day! I will be back (possibly very soon as my extended family is super jealous and want to go, like, next week Hahahah)
Also! I should mention that they are taking every precaution they can in relation to the COVID-19 pandemic! Bring a mask as it’s required where social distancing is not possible and the gear is very carefully disinfected between each use!
Highly recommend!

This was an amazing experience and we had so much fun. We brought our 3 children, and Nick was great with making sure they were comfortable with the rapids and that everyone was enjoying themselves. We did the classic run and we would definitely go back.

I'm only giving 5 starts because 6 isn't an option. That was a ton of fun. If you can keep a dozen rugby guys entertained you can handle anyone. Shout out to our fearless leader Dawson who made sure to point out the craziest parts of the river and steered us towards them.

This was a great fun and very well organised experience. The staff are all helpful and make it a fabulous day out.. It caters for all levels and ages and our guide made sure my 11 year old was well looked after. Swimming in the river and climbing to the waterfall top make an already brilliant day even better. Loved it, as did all my family.

Hi, my friends and I are looking to do this during the summer. Just wondering, how long are you out on the water for?
Hi Helen,
Our trips spend around 3 hours paddling on the river! The trips take around 4.5-5 hours in total.
Hope to see you on the river this summer!
Best,
Sarah

Is there a age restriction? Or just as long as the meet the weight requirements?
Hi Jackalynn, good question!
There's no age restriction. As long as children weigh more than 22 kg (around 50lbs), they can go rafting on our tours.
Hope to see you on the river.
Best,
Sarah

We are thinking of coming from Vancouver? I know that you can get a bus to chilliwack but what is the best way to get to the centre
Hi Holly,
There are a couple different transportation options to our raft ranch. The best way depends on how you want to travel.
1) Greyhound Bus- take bus from Vancouver to Chilliwack, then a cab to our resort. If there are four or more in your party, we will pick you up at no charge. We are happy to drop you off at the bus station after your rafting trip regardless of the size of your party.
2) Route 66 Fraser Valley Express- Take the Skytrain to end of line in Surrey, bus to Carvolth Exchange – Bay 13, transfer to Country Bus 66 to Chilliwack. From there, it is the same as the Greyhound.
Just a heads up, the Fraser Valley Express doesn't run on Sundays.
3) A car share or car rental would work as well.
4) For groups of 12 or more we can organize a pick-up in Vancouver for approximately the same cost as the Greyhound.
Please call our office if you require more information.
Hope to see you on the river!
