I went for a relaxation course at Yasodhara Ashram at the beautiful Kootenay Lake. The retreat gave me time to reflect and enjoy serenity and beauty. I loved the whole experience, top knotch accommodations and the meals were delicious.

The wife and I came up for a long weekend to Nelson and Ainsworth hot spring. Kootenay lake is beautiful but it's also a little cold as its a pretty big lake. They rent steel ships at Kaslo shipyard

Book ahead camping at Kokanee Provincial Park. Tent, camper or tent trailer. Bring your bikes and hiking shoes. Great day trip (July- September) a full day (or overnight at Kokanee Lodge, bookings ahead required or tent outside with mozzies). Free ferry ride over to Kootenay Bay.
