This place is quite the gem. The work that was done to incorporate the old factory and its machinery into a modern museum is a very nice touch. They have done a wonderful job of telling the history of the location, the company, and the product. Excellent displays, friendly staff, and a place you need to visit. Give yourself a... More

I knew nothing about this place and read a couple of article on it. We decided to visit it and I was amazed about the history of the Medalta pottery.

What a great place. Great food, fun and music. Pottery artists are exceptionally talented. Bought some pottery pieces to bring back to Georgia.

We stopped in out of curiosity and were really pleased that we did. The exhibits here do a terrific job of recreating the world of one of the area's most important early industries. Beyond an amazing collection of ceramics, touring the restoration of the old kilns and the factory was a real highlight for us.

Some fun, love this place. I've been there many times and it is a blast learning about the history. I think it is also amazing as a photography playground in the cool indoor light leaking through cracks and high windows onto the decaying pottery equipment. Good for kids, adults, whatever.

Took our kids, ages 4-17, they all enjoyed it. We did the self guided tour. If you take the time to read through everything and watch all the videos- there is so much history here! Really enjoyed all the history of the plant and our country that can be learned here. Spent just under 2 hours here.

We took friends of ours to Medalta last summer and they were extremely impressed. They live in Edmonton and have traveled widely in Canada and abroad. The quality of the restoration, curation and collection at Medalta is truly noteworthy and worth seeing.

We didn't pay the entrance fee and go in (pressed for time) but wander around outside and in the lobby area. Very tastefully done and a beautiful to place to learn about Alberta's early history.

During a recent business stay in "The Hat" our day finished early and our two late afternoon clients cancelled and rather than go back to the hotel my colleague and I drove around. During our site seeing we came across the Medalta and decided to go in for a look. The young University girl at the counter was friendly and... More
