We took our three granddaughters to see the New West Theatre Christmas special, Celebrate. We wanted to introduce them to what Lethbridge has to offer for live productions, and we have enjoyed the shows in the past. Let me first say the talent is very good. From singing voices to playing instruments, there is a wonderful contribution to putting on shows that are very entertaining. On the other hand, I would definitely not have rated this show 'family friendly'. The overuse of adult humor left me to wonder if they are lacking material that could entertain a family audience. For us, the obsession with male genital antidotes did not add to the talent, but was rather a distraction. In the future, it would be helpful for the shows to be rated for the actual content, so the public can make a decision on what age group the show would be appropriate for. We would definitely rate this particular show as PG-14.

My husband I went to see CELEBRATE 30 years on Weds Dec 18, 2019 and I loved it so much I want to go see the production again next week with our son who will be visiting from Toronto. This comedic musical tour down memory lane was a great way to kick off the holiday season. The Yates Theatre has been beautifully renovated. It was our 4th visit in 7 years and every time we go I wonder why we don't have Season passes! The CELEBRATE show was clearly a labour of love by the dedicated directors and cast of this theatre group. I have seen shows in Montreal, New York, Stratford and Niagara on the Lake ON and New West is impressive by all standards. There is so much talent but I was especially wowed by Rylan Kunkel. His performance on the saxophone was so entertaining and only surpassed by his piano solo which was incredibly special.

New West Theater has been a wonderful staple of summer entertainment in Lethbridge for the last 30 years. The young people who perform are talented and energetic mixing musical numbers, dance, and comedy. They draw the audience in so they feel they are part of the show. Their musical talent is incredible.

While visiting southern Alberta, I was fortunate in seeing The Buddy Holly Story in this theatre. It was a wonderful, talented performance. This is the second time in 2 years I have attended a musical here and I’ve never been disappointed. Lethbridge is fortunate in having this facility.

We attended New West Theatre with friends that were visiting from out of town. We attended the musical production over the Christmas holidays and were totally entertained with the singing and theatrics of the evening. New West is now on the list to attend next time our friends are in town. Great Entertainment.
