If you want to learn the history of Lethbridge this is the place to go. They have a great interactive play/learn area for the kids. The gift shop has many different gift items for all ages.

Very nicely done with many dioramas of the history and times of Lewis and Clark and their discoveries. Local Indians of the day and how they helped Lewis and Clark. Wonderful looking rooms showing how things looked way back when and the hardships they had to endure. Very impressively done.

My wife and I visited the museum on Labor Day. The outside of the museum appears rather small, but they managed to pack a lot of content into the space they have. The main exhibit is the Discovery Room, a multi-faceted collection of different stations, each explaining an aspect of life in the Lethbridge area through history. We spent two... More

My wife & I had read about this lady from Fort McLeod that was a featured artist. We were pleased to learn a bit about her life as a young girl and how the unique scenery of Southern Alberta caught her eye. She also was greatly influenced by the neighboring Blackfoot culture. The years of dedication to developing her talent... More

The staff are very knowledgeable! Different themes are offered at different times but are always well put together!! Special speakers as Roberta Bondar are offered as well. The view is magnificent from large glass windows and the gift shop offers an interesting selection!

Small but packed full of information about the local culture and history. Great hands on exhibits for the kids. Lots of great artifacts and photos. Inexpensive to get in and a really good gift shop. Afterwards, we took the path down to Fort Whoop-Up - a nice 8 min walk down with a great view of the railway bridge!

The Galt Museum is situated in a modern building on the edge of the coulees above the Oldman River in downtown Lethbridge. The museum charges a nominal admission fee. There are great views of the river valley from the museum site. A central theme of the museum is reflected in the history of the local coal industry which was established... More
