Galt Museum worth a visit
Sep 2020
Lethbridge is a bit of a surprise and this little museum, even in COVID days, has a lot to offer about the history of Lethbridge

What a disappointing experience! Filming a kids tv show that we weren't informed about till after ticket purchase. No refund. Hundreds of uncontrolled elem kids. We're both retired teachers but this was ridiculous. Couldn't view or hear much. So we went to the "Seminar " on "First Nations". Nothing but a political campaign for reparations.
Total waste of time. Glad it was only $10.00.

History with a View

This is a great location for an attraction. Built as an addition to the St Mary's Hospital from the 18/1900's, the visit is worth it for local history of the prairies in general. The museum shop has some treasures if you'd like to throw in a little shopping, too.
We had a conference meeting there and the view is spectacular!

The Museum offered the history of Lethbridge and area. From pictures of the past to present day and artifacts, it represented a mosaic of cultures and people. The industries that contributed to the growth of the community are displayed in detail. We enjoyed our few hours here and would recommend a visit..

The first impression as you approach the Museum (built on the home of the former Galt Hospital) is the spectacular panoramic view of the prairies. The famous railroad bridge which spans the river valley is an awe-inspiring tribute to the workmanship of the early 1900's, and is still in daily use.
Inside the Museum itself, the staff are most helpful, and the interactive exhibits appeal to all ages. Push button videos are available to explain the Blackfoot heritage, coalmining, Mounties, farming, early settlers etc.with many artifacts to support these stories. Hands on classes for adults and children are frequently offered as are informative lectures.
The Galt Museum is definitely worth a stop on your trip.

Very Interesting

My wife and I recently visited this museum and were impressed as to what it had to offer. Many photos and posters explaining a lot of interesting information regarding our city. A good selection of souvenirs can be seen in the gift shop and are attractive to out of town/Province visitors.
If you are a visitor to Lethbridge, I highly recommend you visit our museum which provides historical information. The staff are very professional and up to date on our cities history.

Interesting history

The museum discovery hall is the main part of which holds most of the displays and it's full of interesting things to do with the local history and of the praries. We had a 50% of voucher from visiting fort whoop-up so it only cost around $8 for 3 of us so it was worth it.
