Wonderful hike!

Was a great hike, loved the views! Had it's strenuous moments, but which hike doesn't? Hold on to your hat near the top, can get very windy!

We spent a week in Jasper this summer. Of the 4 hikes we did this was our least favorite. By no means does that make it a bad hike, but I definitely wouldn't do it again and wish we had done something else. The climb was very difficult and we did not feel that the "reward" was worth it, we... More

The spare Dolomite cliffs are not to be missed. Their austere look contrasts with the snowy peaks made of heavier rocks further in.

This was a difficult but rewarding hike. It's a loop with a meadow and mountains at the top. But it is steep going up and down.

I really enjoyed this hike! It was a hard climb up (I recommend the steep part going up and the walk through the meadow coming down). When you think you are at the top, be sure to go right up the trail to the top or you will miss out on the great views. We saw many hikers who didn't... More

Sadly due to forest fires we weren't able to drive to Maligne Lake but we've visited before and it's worth the drive

This hike involved a steep climb through pine forests to a looped trail through some open alpine meadows. I would recommend a clockwise walk around the loop as the trail that leads off to the right from the fork in the trail is a very steep ascent. I did see wild life - some ground squirrels & a large, friendly... More

This is one of my favourite hikes in Jasper, its so good that I've done it twice now and will most likely do it again. Trail starts off at the Maligne Lake parking lot. First bit of the way is Switchbacks, then it opens up to this beautiful hill where you can see mountains all around you and offers excellent... More

The climb to the lookout is relentless—like spending an hour or more on the Stairmaster. We're a fairly fit couple in our mid-50s and found the climb demanding but doable. We thought it was a great workout; others may find it a bit gruelling. Trailhead is at the farthest parking lot uphill from the main lot (stop at the middle... More

Brilliant hike, definitly not for the faint hearted if you want to reach the summit. The last km is just a constant sliding of shale so for every step you take you only gain about 10cm, but the view makes it totally worth it. One one side you have the beautiful Maligne catchment, the lake, the Maligne range any all... More
