We started out on this hike and took the shortcut that many others recommend... steeper but more interesting than walking up the fire road. We took the fire road all the way back. We went earlier in the day (i.e., around 9 am) so there was not as many people on the trail. Hiking poles helped get up the steepest... More

Most enjoyable long day hike we did in the Jasper area with great views of Maligne Lake and surrounding mountains. Once you reach the top of the first of the Bald Hills (we took a steep path up on skree but later found an easier path) there is a trail along the edge along another two peaks with fantastic views.... Seriously, as you hike up to Bald Hills there are two paths - one looks easy because it's an old fire road and the other looks hard because there's twigs and goes straight up. Take the hard road and you will be rewarded with amazing views as you work your way up to the summit.

We went here on a day where it was forecast to rain, so weren't expecting much. We took the steeper way up, which, although the weather had been quite rainy in recent days, was still not too slippery on the way up. We made it to the summit, and had a nice refreshing beverage to celebrate. After waiting a bit,... More

We hiked up the trail and down the road. The views were amazing. We did not see as many people here as we had seen on all of the other local hikes.

What a view, hill after hill and footed with crystal clear blue water. Simply a view out of this world.

Put this on your to-do list if you're hiking the Jasper area: the lake view from the top is outstanding. My Tilley is definitely off to anyone who calls this an "easy" hike, this is at least a moderate (although we did take the somewhat more strenuous shortcut). We hiked past snow in mid-July and got hailed on, so come... More

A fairly easy hike will reward you with possibly the best view of Maligne lake in Jasper! Definitely worth a visit.

Very easy hike with good views at the summit (not spectacular). Very busy during October when we visited. I would do Eideth Cavel or Sulphur Skyline before this.

If you like to hike and do not mind hiking a few hours up to get to your destination, this is a hike you should not miss! This is one of our favorite hikes near Jasper. The views of Maligne Lake on a clear day are amazing and the mountain scenery is spectacular! Do not miss this!
