I have to admit, my take on this Glacier "Adventure" is a little different from most others. I appreciated the opportunity to view the glacier from the center and learn about its geological history and significance, but it bothers me that hundreds of people are trucked up there every day in the summer season. Yes, I know it's all supposed... More

The Ice Field tour is amazing and Brewster tours' staff is completely professional, pleasant and have a great sense of humour. My daughter & I were in the back of the bus going down a very steep hill and the driver was always reassuring the passengers while educating them on the Ice Field creation. We brought our water bottles to... More

We recently went to the Columbia Icefield Discovery Center for the Glacier Explorer. We arrived around 11 and it wasn't too crowded. We were given a time about 45 out for our departure. That gave us enough time to use the facilities and go back to the car for jackets and gloves (it's cold on the glacier). The shuttle busses... More

Recommended for nature lovers. We stayed at the hotel and the room was clean, the bed ok and the facilities adequate plus (all we needed for the one night stay). Several of our party walked partway up the glacier and enjoyed their walk and all of us took the "crawlers" that take you up to where you are walking on... More

I visited the Columbia Ice Field with my partner and parents this August (2016). We had heard several times that it is best to go right when the centre opens at 9:00am - this is very good advice! My parents and I had previously visited when I was a small child and remember the glacier tours being absolutely packed. Now... More

Great place to stop and go up on the glacier. We walked up ourselves but would have been good to go up in the huge vehicles and go much higher up the glacier.

For one I hate overly touristy attractions. I was very put off by the level of touristy this was. I had been to the Ice fields as a child and don't recall all this nonsense. What a money grab. And the thought of all those vehicles out on the glacier upsets me. Just leave them alone already. It's a natural... More

People everywhere! We got here early to use the facilities before heading out on our guided ice walk (which I do highly recommend) but the facility itself is a nightmare. Early it wasn't too bad, but by lunch you were in the masses and it was unbelievable. Thankfully we had brought a picnic lunch or we'd have been stuck, the... More

We took the glacier tour with the skywalk included. Everything was very well organised with shuttle buses etc. The experience of walking on a glacier and filling your water bottle with fresh glacier water is amazing, and probably not something you would do more than once. For that reason, it's worth the price. We did feel a bit herded, and... More

This building was incredibly crowded. We passed on the tour since the ice fields are not comparable to ones we had previously seen in Alaska. It looks like the tour would be a long wait for a bus and a crowded visit to the glacier. There are some nice views from the building patio though.
