We are so sorry to hear that you have experienced some cancellations of your flights. We understand your frustrations however, hot air ballooning is a completely weather dependent activity and we cannot/will not fly unless it is completely safe to do so. We are also sorry to hear that your mother in law may no longer be able to fly but, that is why all of our vouchers are transferrable. We have also tried to be very accommodating to your group by allowing last minute cancellations on multiple occasions. A few of those flights did go ahead as well. Again, we apologize for the frustrations but encourage you to give us a call in early spring so that we can get your group rescheduled when convenient for you. We are confident that once you are in the air, you will agree the flight was worth the wait and you will have your epic family event!

The launch and landing can be a little intimidating but with our experienced pilots guiding you into the air, there is nothing to worry about. Once you are in the air, you are travelling at the same speed as the wind so it feels like you are not moving at all. All there is to do is relax and enjoy the amzing views! We do require all passengers to be in good physical health to be able to climb in and out of the 4 foot high basket (there are foot holes on the side like a latter) and withstand harsh landings, which happen very rarely. We have this requirement in place in case of any emergency, you can climb in and out yourself with limited assistance. Thank you for your feedback and we apologize that the weather did not cooperate for your flight. Even on beautiful sunny days, we still need to take into account the wind levels on the ground and at flying altitudes. Too strong of winds means we cannot launch and land safely. Little to no winds only allow us to raise and fall but not travel anywhere whereas we want our passengers to enjoy many different views to have the full Sundance Balloons experience. Our pilot was mostly on the phone checking the latest weather system hoping your flight could go ahead, we apologize if that came off as unprofessional. Our Nonrefundable Policy is in place as we allow and want you to keep rebooking if you have a cancelled flight. Again, we understand the frustration that comes with cancelled flights, especially when it is at the field due to a sudden change in weather, this happens very rarely. Hot air ballooning is a sport and most often, our landings are very smooth however, they can sometimes be bumpy. This is why we do have restrictions on who we can and cannot fly and why the pilots do a thorough safety briefing before and during the flight which includes instruction on the proper landing position. The safety of our passengers is our utmost priority. We are sorry to hear that you were sore after the flight but are glad to hear your overall experience was great!
