Nice picnic spot

They have the wood burning stoves on a swivel and some larger pits with grills. I go on weekdays so not sure if there would be spots available on weekends. Nice trails and you... read more

I love this place. It's wonderful if you want to go for a nice walk on a paved or natural path. You can stay in the open area where there is the off leash dog park or you can go for a nice long walk all the way to William Hawrelak Park.

Edmonton has a spectacular system of parks and trails (160km) along the North Saskatchewan River valley and this is one of the nicest. It's really a combination of two parks: Sir Wilfred Laurier which contains the Valley Zoo; group picnic areas; ball diamonds; boat launch; and across the road Buena Vista Park with its large off leash area (best in... This is a beautiful quiet park in the river valley that can be enjoyed by all. There are picnic sites of small or large groups and walking trails around the pak.

I took my dog, Oscar (Goldendoodle: golden retriever, standard poodle cross, thanks for asking) down to the dog park for the first time a couple of weeks ago. The walk was so beautiful and it was nice meeting dogs who are well behaved. We walked to the foot bridge and crossed into Hawrelak Park and did the loop of the... More

The Parks are great for hiking all season in the river valley. Winters are tricky if there has been rain or warm weather that will cause ice. So be sure you are wearing good winter hiking boots and have a walking stick with an ice pick on it. You will see winter birds, rabbits, deer, moose as well keep an... More

I think this is the best park in Edmonton! We visit here with our dog (at the off leash park) at least 3 times a week. The park is clean and has amazing paths to walk along. There is even a beach for the dogs to swim in the river! Love it here!

I went to this park several times a week for about 8 years with my previous dog and it was always a lot of fun. Dog owners were courteous and dogs were well behaved. Today (a Sunday) I brought my 5 month old puppy and it was immediately surrounded by a group of large dogs. The owners laughed and said... More

Laurier Park is an excellent spot to walk along the North Saskatchewan flood plain. There are a variety of trails, reasonable parking and an off leash area for dog lovers. You can get many views of the river and there is a large foot bridge that connects to Hawrelak Park which also is a good place to bring families with... More

Great place to walk the dog off leash and for him to socialize with other dogs. There is access to the river for the dogs to splash around in the summer and a field for throwing the ball or frisbee.
