Chinatown is basically a rundown area of Edmonton frequented by junkies, drug dealers, gangsters, prostitutes, and a whole slew of transients that everyday people would rather not associate around. Lived here my whole life and only walked through there twice; went for dinner at one of the noodle houses and missed a drive-by shooting in the place we were by less than 10 minutes. I love this city but stay away from Chinatown, it's too uncertain.

Not too much to see. Pretty ghetto area. Not safe at night. Tons of chinese food places. One hotpot place open til 430am I believe. Other than that, i'd try to avoid this area.

After 10 years plus since I was in Edmonton's China Town, I was somewhat disappointed to see 'NO' progress have been made in term of development within the area at all. Whilst the same restaurants and grocery shops still here, there were also lots of empty buildings and shops too😕. However, I understand Edmonton is going through a change, plenty of major building works is going in Downtown area and lots of new road and bridge projects are being carried out at the surrounding area of the airport, I am sure the development will spread into China Town eventually and make the area great again. I look forward seeing the improvement next time I return to Edmonton City.

Chinatown is a very interesting area - lacking some of the polish of areas like 124 Street and Whyte Avenue - however I really enjoy the food, a lot of the specialty shops and the heritage buildings like Hull Block.

Upcoming additions like the Arena District, Royal Alberta Museum will add a lot to the area - as well I think there is a facelift due for the area next year. The Edmonton Remand Centre recently closed which is great for the area.

For this visit, I attended the 97 Street Night Market with friends. It is a newer event and was small, but I can sense it will grow in the coming years - it was very well attended for the size of the event.

If you are a foodie of any kind, this area is not to be missed.

Unless you know of something specific to visit in this area there is nothing here to stroll around and see. The lucky 97 supermarket is the most popular establishment and it is worth going if you are looking for imports or a good deal on seafood. If you were hoping to visit a cure little hub where you could wander you should visit Vancouver or Toronto for a great Chinatown.

We went there randomly at night we walked a little bit around. It's very small and nothing really interesting. It's only for shopping and food. the market was closed when we were there so i didn't see any point in staying. There might be some interesting restaurants though.

We entered China Town. Everything was written in Chinese.

We saw several Chinese restaurants and lot of Chinese stores.

I liked the welcome at the entrance of the Chinatown.

Worthwhile to see!
