Does not wish to allow people with disabilities because we cannot conform with certain rules. Apparently we shouldn't be allowed into public. I was told that I would have to shop on-line. The items in the store are meant to be bought online because you are not able to examine them closely and they not described in much detail online.

Hi Jennifer, thank you for the review.
I have to assume that you are referring to our mandatory mask policy as a result of COVID 19
Yes, we were one of the first to implement this mandatory policy in Edmonton (later a city-wide bylaw). We put this policy in place based on the latest medical and scientific research in order to keep our staff, our vendors and all of our customers safe.
As you indicated in your review, we did offer to assist you with on-line shopping. We are not an "essential" service and, for the safety of all, we don't allow anyone in without a mask. We would be happy to assist you with curbside pickup and allow you to safely examine any item outside of our store prior to purchase.

If you are serious about finding a treasure to buy, do yourself a favour and head instead to the Rocky Mountain Antique Mall just south of here, where the prices are way more reasonable! While the place is huge and there seem to be many vendors, my boyfriend and I found the prices here to be very high - and many times not justified. We decided to leave after 10 minutes because of this observation.

I was so excited to go see this place!!
About 15 minutes into my shopping the owner came up to me, and my partner and told us we had to leave because a security guard had apparently seen us shoplift at sears. I don't shop at sears, and I don't shoplift. It was horrible news, as I was just a regular girl who wanting to shop..

The Old Strathcona Antique Mall is simply amazing. It's the size of a large grocery store, but imagine that the grocery store had a second floor!
We were in my hometown over the Labour Day weekend and spent a good four hours there as the rainy weather nixed any outdoor activities. There is a little canteen there and a complimentary coffee station/sink on the second floor with seating. There are also washrooms. The antique mall is located less than 15 minutes from downtown.
The vast array of stuff was amazing! As a former Edmontonian, I found a lot of it nostalgic and saw many knick knacks from when I was a kid. There were lots of local books and magazines for sale, and good furniture too. The items all seemed quite well cared for or clean. The stalls were generally well curated and the staff was very friendly and helpful.
I did find that prices on things really varied. I used to collect toy horses and there are always people that get a collector guide and price them using that. The thing is, $45 for a very well played with model horse, no matter how old it is, is not a competitive price for the collector in the know. There were some toys that were definitely overpriced - but I found an amazing find for $20 that I would not have expected to find anywhere else!

Today my wife and I were in old strathcona and decided to enter here, we were immediately amazed by everything inside of the market, the place is really big and have a lot of history, you can find coins, old toys, furniture, clothing, tools and so much more. we were surprised that this place wasn't really advertised, it is a great discovery, I totally recommend this place to spend some time and maybe buy a couple of things. some of the stuff is even cheaper than ebay, I thought we were going to spend 10 minutes inside and ended spending more than one hour.

Well stocked and well organized, spent quite a bit more time here than I expected. Was particularly happy with the amount of hockey memorabilia in the store. Went home a lot poorer for it!

Thank you so much for your review and 5 stars; greatly appreciated!
We do carry quite a bit of sports memorabilia; we have a few vendors who specialize in that area.

Probably the nicest antique store I have ever been. Very clean, well organized, and no smell. Although they didn't have much of what I collect it was very interesting to look at what they did have and the staff were very polite and helpful. We will definitely visit again next time in Edmonton.

I am not an experienced antiquer. My daughter is on a "vintage" kick and we had some time to kill and ended up here. Very neat store with a huge variety of old stuff. Lots to look at and browse through and I thought most of the pricing was quite reasonable

Hello,
I’m looking to sell my mother’s old sewing machine. It is a Comrie sewing machine purchased in the early 1950’s from the Comrie Sewing Machine Company. It is in a maple Queen Anne style cabinet with a matching stool. I have the attachments and the original information booklet printed in 1942.
I do understand it would need to be seen, for accuracy. That being said, do you do online appraisals? I’m really looking for a reasonable price if I were to sell privately.
Thank you very much for your time and I am looking forward to your response.

I do not think they do appraisals but if you call them they may be able to refer you to someone who does.
