About
River Valley Adventure's tour of the Edmonton River Valley is the first and only of it's kind. We employ a very thorough training program for riders of all experience levels, so no previous experience is needed! Upon arrival to Louise Mckinney park, you will watch a short safety video, then we will conduct a training session to cover all the skills required to safely operate a Segway. Once this is completed, we'll depart and take a tour through the River Valley with short stops to talk about the rich history of the area. At a couple points during your adventure you'll get to experience the top speed of the Segway (in a safe, controlled environment of course!) Our Segway Adventures are great for all occasions, and are a fantastic way for tourists and locals alike to explore the city.

I loved the tour but was a little disappointed if you book the 60 minute tour it takes over 30 minutes to get everyone trained and up and running. We only had time for a 15 minute tour. You also have to watch a 5 minute safety video which counts towards the time at the beginning. They basically take you up a hill then tell you for another $25 a person they will continue on the trail or you can head back. It seemed like a way to get everyone to upgrade which is fine but be more transparent about cost.
We showed up early to and the tour guide showed up at the exact time of the ride to open the store which cut into our ride time.
Tip: book the 90 minute adventure tour don't bother with the 60minutes it is not enough time.

Don't hesitate to take yourself, your teens or your friends on a River Valley Adventure segway tour. You will be the envy of everyone you pass as you zip around on Edmonton's scenic river valley trails (who are these techno geeks who can balance so effortlessly on a two-wheeled machine?), and you will learn a little bit about Edmonton's history at the same time. The staff is very professional and the segways are well maintained. Relax after your ride with coffee or ice cream on the rooftop patio. This activity is covid-19 friendly - segways are sanitized before you use them and everyone stays six feet apart.

We did the 60 minute beginner Segway tour- it was so fun we upgraded to the 90 minute! It doesn’t take long to feel comfortable in using the Segway, and those extra 30 minutes really let you get into the River Valley trails. The check in process was easy, and the staff and our tour guide were all super helpful and nice. I would definitely recommend this tour- and really recommend you go for the 90 minute to get the most out of it.

It was an awesome experience with my girls to get on the Segway .. in couple mins we were all able to take good control of our Segway’s and we actually felt like birds flying while going uphill / downhill.. Everything went on smooth with us .. Staff is very well knowledgeable and friendly .. Will definitely recommend everyone to do this .. Actually, few of them already did it after I have experienced:)

If you've never ridden a segway it's a fun new thing to try, and either way it's a nice way to see Edmonton's river valley (or at least the small downtown section of it). I've done a 90 minute tour in the spring, and a shorter 60 minute winter tour. Both took us out to some nice photo spots and paused in a few places to give a little historical information. A great idea for somewhere to take visitors, especially visitors who may not be up to more vigorous hiking or walking of the same distances.

3 of us went for a Segway tour and it was fantastic. I'm pretty familiar with the River valley trails, but it was fun to zip along and see so much of it in just 90 minutes. The tour guide (I forget his name) was excellent, both on the instruction and navigating us through the trails.

We thoroughly enjoyed our segway tour - the instruction on how to operate our segways was thorough and our guide was very patient in answering questions. The views along the route were beautiful and whet our interest in coming back again for a tour in the autumn colors. The cozy fire, charcuterie plate and s'mores at the end was a lovely way to end our Valentine's special celebration.

If you want to try something new and explore our beautiful river valley at the same time then check out River Valley Adventures Segway Tour. Our tour guide was amazing and very patient as a few of the 6 of us had not been on a Segway before. We will definitely sign up for this again.

The instruction was very through and well explained.
I have previously been on a Segway Tour somewhere else. The instruction time on how to ride the Segway was given then the ride itself was an hour. With this tour, both were included in the hour so the ride time was much shorter than I expected.

I took my 15yr old daughter out for a dad/daughter day and decided to try the Segway tour. We had an absolute blast!!! Neither of us had rode a Segway before but it was very easy to pick up and get the hang of. The River Valley Adventure staff were great at giving the 30 min instruction and patient with everyone who was just learning.
Once we got some practice we headed out to the river valley trails and it was amazing. We crossed the North Saskatchewan about 4-5 times on the trails and the scenery was gorgeous. My daughter commented it was like we were on vacation in our own city.
I would highly recommend this to anyone. Doesn’t matter your age, ability or if you are a little apprehensive about trying a Segway. The staff will guide you through and make sure you are safe.
Ultimately it was very easy and incredibly fun. We will be back to do this again!

For kids under 14, we offer a Kidz Segway Clinic. It is a 30 minute training session that includes a fun obstacle course as well as an icecream! After the clinic your child will receive an official Segway Learner's Permit! Book online or call to book.

Our tours run 7 days per week every hour and a half starting at 10:30am and ending at 7:30pm. You can book online or by calling us at 780-995-7347
Tours are $59.99 per person for 60 minutes and $84.99 per person for 90 minutes. First tour includes a short video and a training session. Hope to see you out enjoying our beautiful river valley!
