We've been to the Citadel twice. We've been very happy with the seats, and the people behind the ticket booth are so helpful. The performances have been great....although neither of the plays was particularly 'deep'. We'll be back, no doubt! And we find that if we're willing to sit near the front, it's not all that expensive either for live Professional theatre.

MARVELOUS ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️🙏😊❤️ spectacular, amazing show!! the new adaptation of christmas carol is simply fantastic.
with a touch of “modernity and musically “ just adds more magic to a such beautiful fable tale without breaking the tradition.
Thank you very much for giving us a gift year after year by bringing amazing artists to edmonton.

We went to Jersey Boys this Saturday and were entertained with an amazing performance in the Shoctor Theatre. All seats are excellent with enough incline and staggered seats with room for your legs. Service in intermission was efficient with no big line ups. Love the sappy cups your drinks come in and able to take into the theatre. How civilized.
I would be hard pressed to go to the Jubilee Auditorium again with seats so close between rows, could not see the stage due bad staggering of seats. Such a disappointment and long line ups for drinks in intermission.
It will be nice when the Citadel restaurant opens again. Makes for a complete evening.

June 9, 2023. Went to the comic stripers and one of the hottest days. The building had no air conditioning. The theatre had no fans (floor or ceiling) and they closed the doors to the theatre. It was hot, muggy, smelly. We had to leave, it was so hot. Spoke to the manager on at that time, the air conditioning broke down 2weeks in advance. They gave no notice and handed out no fans or water.

For 19 years the good people of Edmonton were treated to a production of "A Christmas Carol" second only to the 1951 Allister Simms movie version. We loved it and attended many years. In fact we took our children, their friends and cousins, our friends and many acquaintances. Attending this wonderful production was a regular part of our Christmas tradition for many many years. In 2019 the Dickensian staging was tossed and the story was re-imagined as a 1940's New York department store drama. Scrooge is the miserly store owner who requires a widowed Mrs. Cratchit to work on Christmas day. Of course there is the chain rattling Marley, the three spirits, Tiny Tim and a host of Cratchit characters and in the end the miser has the expected epiphany. But that is where the similarity to our beloved Dickensian tale ends. This show suffers from a poor script, mediocre staging and horrible stilted acting all around. But then the actors have really nothing of value with which to work. Some of the Christmas singing is nice but I can access those same songs any time on my phone. This play did not put me in the Christmas spirit. Citadel theatre folks please bury this grave production so that we are not haunted by it in the years to come.

The play The Fiancé was entertaining, however it was overshadowed by the challenges of getting to our seats. There were long line upside to check QR Codes, ID, and tickets. My husband has limited mobility. We could find seating far from the person checking ID. Then we has to walk across to the elevator and have our ID checked again. After taking the elevator, we couldn't cross in front of the theater. He had to try to cross in front of so many people to get to our seats. It was exhausting. Upon leaving we asked for help. The attendants were helpful. They got a wheelchair. We have been season ticket holders for many years, We a re not sure we will renew if this situation is not remedied.

Was my first time here, and it was pretty great! Say front row for the new production of a Christmas Carol. Excellent production, also placed parts of the original set throughout the building. Good assortment of food and drink choices throughout

An excellent performance of this funny play. Great venue, good view of the stage from any seat. Nice eating places nearby and parking below the theatre. There is a lot of legroom and it's very comfortable.

the Citadel is a favourite place in a city downtown that is concrete and dirt and noise ( as downtowns are wont to be). the Citadel has a waterfall cascading down from a "lake" surrounded by vegetation in a park setting that is accessible by elevator or stairs. On the main floor there is an oasis with water course, giant trees, park benches and sculptures. the theater area features a nice coffee shop and eatery. This is a place to access the underground pedway, LRT, and downtown shopping centres. The Citadel complex is always a great place to be.

Amazing performance in an intimate setting and The sets are really show stoppers.
Performers' ages range from the very young to the mature yet all performers are superb.
