Where to go, what to see? (13 Replies)
My husband and I will be in Edmonton Aug 4-8 for our 1st Anniversary and for Huntfest. We've been to Edmonton numerous times and we do the usual stops like the WEM and other malls. Would like suggestions for other things to see, go, shop at, etc Fort Edmontotn Park and Telus world of Science are on our list too, but we been there before. Any suggestions? I heard shopping at High Street is fun, Also, we wouldn't mind a good spa visit for a couples massage. Thanks!

I guess that depends on what you really want to do. Walking Whyte Ave is good on a nice day, you could do a cruise on the Edmonton Queen, there is an Eskimos game on Aug. 5th and you can get tickets for pretty cheap. I believe that's also the weekend for Edmonton Folk Fest which is an amazing music festival... there are some really fantastic acts this year.. as there is every year. There are several good spa's to get a massage at, it just depends on how much you're willing to spend.

Yes, I know that the public transportation system is great, however, we will flying in/out of Bellingham b/c on the lower airfares. I've...More

I see on the website to this museum that it is under construction and lots of the galleries are closed for renovation. They have reduced the adult admission price, but still around $45 for our family is high if not much is left to see. Can anyone comment on if enough of this museum is still open that would interest 2 adults and a 4 year old, and mainly the 4 year old. And if the admission price is worth what is left to see. Or maybe recommend something else if this isn't for us during...More

Depends on what galleries are closed. There are a lot of hands on exhibits that will fascinate your 4 year old.
