While staying in downtown Calgary it was incredibly novel to be so close to a major sporting arena, so we went to see the Calgary Flames play the Vancouver Canucks.
The venue is again very easy to get to and simple to navigate. Even if you're sat far in the back, you've basically got a great view of the ice rink.
My only word of warning would be to avoid bringing a rucksack/bag if you can, because security made me check it with guest services, meaning it took a little longer to get out of the arena once the game was finished.

We attended the buffet at Telus Club before the Thomas Rhett concert on Feb. 12. It was absolutely amazing! The food and service were impeccable and the dinner reasonably priced, for the offering. We had a wonderful time at the concert as well and made this our early Valentine's Day date night. It was nice to get out without the kids for the first time in a while... Memorable night for sure!

Love this place. Been to around 20 Flames games over the past two years and I’ve always had a great time, even if I’ve been to a few bad games!
Lots of selection food and drink wise, bathrooms are a no go during intermissions but easy as pie mid period. Usual fare for any big venue.
The concourse is too small, the seating is confusing, but once you figure out some of the tricks, it’s all starts to make sense! Going to go to as many games as I can over the next few years before we build the new big, beautiful and modern barn. It’ll be a sad day when they tear this baby down!

Went to the Oilers/Flames game on Saturday for the Battle of Alberta. Could not ask for a better hockey game. Did the "Top Shelf" experience which is very expensive but an incredible experience. Could not imagine better or attentive service from caring and friendly staff. Truly a class act.

Spent Spring Break in Calgary and made it a hockey week. WHL Hitmen, NHL Flames and AHL Wranglers. The kids loved it! The Saddledome holds a relaxed atmosphere with history. Tons of concession variety and beer options.

Just want to say a HUGE thank you to Janeen for helping me last night at the lumineers concert. She turned a crap night into a genuinely lovely one. I wouldn’t have got through the night without her, she truly went above and beyond x100. Please make sure my thanks are passed onto her!!

The first part will be about the food at Telus club. Was amazing and was told that they try to match the food to whatever the visiting teams local foods are. That’s such a cool and not easy thing to do each game.
So much food and the desert bar was off the charts including a chocolate fountain
Now the venue for hockey games. It’s an older arena but that’s why it’s great. Seats are designed steep so you’re over the ice. Not really a bad seat in the house

An all-around great experience at my first life ice hockey match watching the Calgary Flames. The stadium staff were lovely and the match was great. A great atmosphere on game day. Definitely worth visiting while in Calgary

I went to see Stars on Ice today at the Saddledome. My ticket said "no flash photography" and the sign on the entrance doors states "no professional cameras". I thought I was ok with my department store Canon, but apparently not. The venue's policy is no camera bigger than your pocket and no videotaping. I was extremely disappointed that I was not allowed to take one photo while people around me with iPods, iPhones, and iPads were snapping pictures and videotaping full performances. This policy is confusing because Stars on Ice says digital cameras are ok, but then the Saddledome says something else. I doubt I will attend another event there.

We are staying in Banff for Christmas and New Year. We are thinking of driving down and spending a night in Calgary to go to the Flames v Canucks ice Hockey game. Is this doable? Also where would be the best place to stay for the night with easy access to the Stadium. (We are Aussies)

Good Morning from England
We stayed at the Holiday Inn on Macleod Trail, the tramway is at the bottom of the carpark & 5 minutes from the Stampede Showground, hassle-free, and you miss all the local traffic- Its an easy drive from Banff to Calgary.
Happy Christmas & New Year

Even kijken op de website van sadledome of calgaryflames. Is wel in het begin van het seizoen 24 sept. Misschien een presentatiewedstrijd. Maar dat is pas bekend 2 a 3 maanden voor 24 sept.

What are some names of some hotels near the Saddledome
Written March 24, 2018
The closest reasonably priced hotels are the Best Western Plus Calgary Centre Inn, Days Inn Calgary South, and Holiday Inn Express.
If you are looking for a more upscale hotel, try the Calgary Marriott Downtown Hotel or the Fairmont Palliser.

We will be in Calgary around the 24th of March 2017 and would like to know what would be on around that time as we only have a short time there.
Thanks Damien Cole

The last few regular season Calgary Flames hockey 🏒 games and the playoffs if they make it. The lacrosse team also may have games.

Hi, I am going to see Sting and Peter Gabriel on Saturday night and there are 2 tickets in section 107, Row 12. You mentioned that you sat in that section for Leonard Cohen but singers were between you and the singer. I know that Sting and Gabriel have no backup singers, so do you think it will be a problem? I'm hoping that they have a large screen on the other side as well.

Hi, it was James Taylor I went to see and there were two large screens on either side of the stage. If you check the seating map it should be helpful also. Enjoy the show!

We stayed at a B&B within walking distance. Calgary Westways Guest House. It was awesome, clean and tidy. Our host was Graham. Carried our luggage up the stairs and he can really cook a mean breakfast! My wife is quite the cook, also, and even she was impressed with his skills.
Not only that, he is as approachable as you want. He is a fountain of information about Calgary and Canada, and has a great sense of humor. Huge Calgary Flames fan, too. But I didn't hold that against him... Go Sharks!

I am looking into a Groupon Deal for this hotel. It comes with a Junior Suite. We are interested in upgrading to family concierge. Are their any 1 bedroom masters with family concierge privaleges? Are the F.C. Rooms spacious enough for 2 adults who like a king bed and 2 kids?
I called Melia and they directed me to the hotel. The hotel advised it would be $145/night USD to upgrade to 1 bedroom master and another $90 USD PER PERSON Per day for F.C. Privilege...
We don't mind paying an extra cost for upgrading but this seemed excessive. As a Canadian this is a substantial cost and the quoted price is well in excess of what it would cost per Melia.
We like the Excellence Resorts (specifically looking at the Finest) and were only looking at Paradisus thanks to Groupon. I am retisant to stay here if this is the true cost to upgrade to F.C. 1 bdrm as we can book a similar room at the Finest (Finest Club Family Suite) for less.
We'd like to try Paradisus but hate to book without truly understanding our options. Any advice or help would be appreciated.

I was a tourist in Calgary, when we went to the Saddledome and was there last month, I have no idea about this groupon deal or accomodation. I didn't know there was rooms to stay in the Saddledome. Why have you sent this to me????
