Fun for the whole family including Fido

Great family place. The new mini train is running again and the café is open. You can roast hotdogs over an open fire, and play fetch with Fido in the river.

Prior to the flood of a few years back, I would hike in the douglas fir tree forest at the west end of the park- I was going through some rough life stuff and this park literally saved my life with its beauty and varied surroundings and nature.. I have visited a few more times more recently and am so... More

Bowness Park is essentially a greenspace with walking trail along the Bow River. Nice place to go for an open air walk by the river. Expect dog walkers and joggers. A separate cycling trail exists nearby so you won't compete with anything faster than a jogger.

I was nostalgic coming back here, so happy to see that the park has come back since the floods. I grew up in this park and thought for a bit that it would be lost. I was ecstatic being able to bring my girls and family here.

This is a great place for a city hike. Take the time to explore. Either along the Bow river or in the old growth forests. You can also rent canoes and paddle boats in the pond.

We celebrated summer this year with a visit to Bowness Park with the intention of trying the pedal boats for the first time and were happy to discover that there were several boats available without a long wait time. Since it was the weekend, my family and I paid $30 for a leisurely hour on the lagoon although weekday rates... More

This park is great for family outings with miles of walking or cycling trails. There is also a stream where you can lazily go down with a rented paddleboat. Lots of playground equipment for tddlers to enjoy. Our family had a great time. Wish we had more time to hike the trails.

Stopped in for lunch with friends -- found it very expensive for small portions. We left disappointed. I had the Chicken Skewers for $12.00 and got 3 skewers about 3 inches in length with little"puffs" of rice on top. Our friend had the Vietnamese salad and wanted the dressing on the side --- they would not do it. She had... More

Written July 27, 2016. Renovations after the 2013 flood are almost complete & the park is nearly back to normal with a wonderful children's playground, walking trails, & canoe/paddle-boats for rent on the lagoon, The newly opened Seasons Of Bowness Restaurant in Bowness Park has patio seating overlooking the lagoon & on a sunny day is a charming place to...
