Calgary is blessed to have some nice outdoor art work and this is one of the pieces. Not something I'd go out my way to see (unless you had a particular interest in Sitting Eagle) but a nice photo opportunity if you're in the downtown...More

The Chiniki are one of the peoples that make up the Stoney Nakoda Nation reserve just west of Calgary and north of Cochrane. John Hunter was one of their longtime Chiefs and lived to be a ripe age. This is a nice statue that enlivens...More

Sitting Eagle, John Hunter, was the chief of the Stoney Nakoda First Nation of Alberta. This 11ft statue is a tribute to him.

We found this magnificent statue and immediately fell in love with it. It is an excellent statue and a fine memorial to one of the great native leaders.
