Recently moved here -- but have been coming down almost weekly for the past couple of years. This neighbourhood has everything you could want. You can walk to restaurants, parks, running paths, shopping, health care, theatre, movies, etc. Wonderful location by the Elbow!

It's nice to stroll along the streets of the Mission District in Calgary. The houses are cute and well kept, like going back in time. There are restaurants and coffee shops in the area to sit back and enjoy some relaxation and good food. It's a short walk to the Stampede grounds and the river. Lovely and unique area.

The mission district is rich in history, and has a lot of character. There are lots of good restaurants and cafes within easy walking distance, and the area is within a short stroll of the Stampede grounds and the Saddledome, as well as the more 'bohemian' area of 17th Avenue. Located below the CPR railway tracks south of Calgary's downtown... More

The Mission is like being transported to a funky, cool little place ... Walk the streets, stop for a coffee, croissant, walk more, peruse the shops - try on some clothes ... Stop later for a glass of wine and lunch or an early dinner - there are lots of great restaurants yo choose from. After walk along the Bow... More

If one is on a day trip or two in Calgary, Mission District might easily be missed. There is nothing spectacular or eye-catching for a first-timer. Ten blocks or so, between 17 Avenue SW and Elbow River, the district was originally established by French Canadian settlers, in early 1900's. One of the best quarters of town with lush greenery and... More

Mission district is quite eclectic with unique shops and restaurants in the area, and old houses and new redevelopment popping up everywhere. It's a great place to eat and shop, and then walk south towards the Elbow River for a stroll.

Fun district to toddle around in and poke in shops, grab a coffee or a bite to eat. I usually drop my car off at 4&20 to have it washed and then go for a pleasant wander.

This is one of the truly walk-friendly retail sections in Calgary. While driving through it can be frustrating that means it's built for what it's built for. This is a MUST stop for weekend evening activities, restaurants, sports bars, lounges, shopping, along with a number of Mom n Pop stores that add lots of flare. Do yourself a favor, park... More

A nice place to browse and shop at the many local small businesses. Many excellent and diverse restaurants in the area. The area is open for business and very vibrant following our June 2013 floods. Mission and Calgary is very resilient and we thank all the volunteers, organizations and others who helped out!
