A nice place to visit if you are into the carnival scene. I would recommend going after 2 PM as the prices drop drastically and you really only need about 3-4 hours. Make sure you bring your own water as there are no functioning water fountains and bottled water is expensive.

My wife and I took our three grandchildren to Callaway Park for the day. We had a wonderful time. There were plenty of rides for our 5-year old. He especially loved the water bumper boats. Our 10 and 11 year olds enjoyed all the rides but especially the Vortex, Adrenaline, and free falling rides. We were at the park from 10am to 7pm on a Thursday and the lines were short in the morning and evening, longer in the afternoon. We ate lunch at the park. The food was very good and the staff did a great job. All staff members were helpful and very friendly...I can't say enough about every employee's cheerful, positive attitude. This is a true gem in the Calgary area...a great place to take the family.

First visit for us. 2 adults, a teen, and pre-teen, frequent big name theme park visitors so we have pretty good theme park baseline. Vortex rollercoaster had an insanely slow load time. It does 2 loops around the short track, stopping in between to let people off. It’s not bad enough to do that. When the line is over an hour wait time, they really should just give riders 1 loop and be done with it. The theming was weird with some buildings being a previous Flintstones theme. Maybe nostalgic for some that grew up with it idk. Dumb they charged extra for a lame maze and the mini golf. We paid for the mini golf but don’t feel it was really worth the extra cost ($3 per person) for what it was (9 basic unthemed holes). Food was your super basic theme park minimal offerings at Calaway Cafe: cheeseburger, hot dogs, chicken fingers, fries, onion rings. Overpriced and small portions. Greasy and overcooked imo. You can bring your own food into the park but that doesnt work well for out of town tourists. Churros were the worst we’ve ever had. Tasted like they’d been recooked and re-cinnamoned multiple times. Timber Falls log ride and bumper boats were the most enjoyed by all. U-drive cars were the worst (definitely more appropriate for the toddler age group). Haunted Hotel looked promising from outside but also disappointed, just a super short walk through attraction.

Takes 7 minutes to change over a ride, then they waste another minute with their silly thumbs up stuff. Staff mumbles rules, that everyone with half a braincel knows, through a mask so you can't hear them
Lunch takes over 1 hour to stand in line for some fries and chicken fingers at $ 50 for 3 people
What an absolute joke of a park. Can't wait till the youngest outgrows this so we can avoid it at all (ridiculously high) costs.
Disney prices and wait times for an amateuristic glorified fair.
Calaway Park do better and get efficient.

We went with 9 year old daughter and 5 year old twin boys on a weekday after 2 in August as it's $32 a person after 2. The wait times for log ride and roller coaster were 50 minutes. All other rides were probably under 10 minutes. For that age group it was fun and I think worth the price around $160 for the 5 of us.

Super impressed with the Covid protocols. We were able to socially distance the entire time and LOVED the reduced capacity. No lineups, no crowds. It was perfect. The rides were disinfected in between use, masks were worn, hand sanitizer Was readily available, etc. We felt safe and relaxed the entire day.

We took our teenage daughter to Calaway Park and she really enjoyed the rides. The log ride and rollercoaster were favourites and we finished the day by fishing. We lucked out that day as there was an airshow across the street and we got some really good views of some top aircraft. Great visit!

This was our first visit in quite a while, and with older children. It did not disappoint. The online tickets provide a good savings, and are easy to purchase on your way to the park. Once there, the staff are all very friendly and work hard to ensure safety on the rides.
While some of the more popular rides do have long waits, but 4-5pm lines begin to decrease in size and we were able to do everything we wanted to.
The park is clean and the washrooms are scattered around the park and easy to find. Snacks are pricey- but they are at any theme park. Favourites included Pretzels, Churros and of course Cotton Candy.

We visited Calaway park as a family for the day. We got on only a handful of rides despite arriving as soon as it opened as the staff take a significant amount of time to re-fill the rides. The quick service cafeteria was clearly understaffed and even receiving 2 burgers and fries took over 20 minutes when there was a line with 3 people. The park has great rides for littles, but waiting in small lines for over 30 mins was too much for the day. We won’t be back.

Great for family with kids under 10! Teenagers will find entertainment on less then half a dozen rides. During CoVid they’re wiping down everything so be prepared to wait. Unless you’re first in line, be prepared to wait 45 min for Timber Falls, Vortex, and Bumper Boats. Some ride ape I got doesn’t make sense (empty seats between family members?). We’ve been every summer for six years. Just the Covid wait lines are ridiculous. What else can you expect right now?!

My sister is working and living in Canmore currently, thinking of getting two tickets for her and a friend to go here, if I purchased tickets would she be able to pick her own date After receiving them?
Written August 22, 2020
No, you have to purchase them for a specific day.
Written August 23, 2020
Is there weight restrictions on any of the rides? I’m a size 18 and I’m scared I won’t be able to go on any of the rides with my friends
Written August 11, 2019
The husband is 6'2 about 310lbs... he was able to do all the rides he wanted.
Written August 12, 2019
How did you get 50 percent off your tickets?

Hi It was a special family day weekend.
Written August 10, 2018
Hi,
As you have mentioned that some rides are closed, was it because that untill June 28 the park is opened on weekends only and after that it would be daily and during daily days every thing will be open
How big were the line ups
Once we buy ticket, do we have to pay for any ride/fun inside park other than food and drinks
Regards
Written June 8, 2018
Sorry but the lineups depend on how busy it is and the rides are completely free but the games and maze and mini golf you'll have to pay for
Written June 29, 2018
no, sorry for the late response but you can bring your own

We had two dogs. Their were several other dogs. They were very good about my concerns and the heat.

Best time/days to go to Calaway park? Are weekends crazy???
Written August 17, 2016
Yes weekends are crazy. Major line ups. If you have children I would recommend going during the week, either right when they open or around 2pm, there seems to be a lull at that time.
