I am from SF and every now and then when I'm homesick, I like walking around Kensington. Parts of it remind me of SF with the cute boutiques, fun restaurants and tea shops. It's a nice change of pace from the new malls that are...More

I walked here from downtown rather than take the LRT to Sunnyside. All the tour books had hyped it as a place to eat and shop. The taggers’ graffiti and curbside drifts of litter weren’t all that alarming, nor were security bars or boards on...More

This is still a wonderful place, walkable from downtown - just over a half hour's walk from the Calgary Tower. On my recent visit, I was impressed that they have squeezed a good amount of parking on the west side of the 10 Street /...More

What a fantastic area, so close to downtown Calgary but yet a huge eclectic group of diverse shopping and consuming experiences, don’t miss the cat cuddling cafe!

Calgary has a few very interesting boutique areas, but Kensington is still Number One! There are lots and lots of shops, restaurants, bars and cafes - it would take a long time to sample every one. In the summer, there also many outdoor patios, and...More

This past summer I realized I had missed the boat. I grew up nearby Kensington and never realized how many cool fringe events take place at venues throughout the neighbourhood such as the movie-&-drinks nights at the Plaza Theatre, board gaming at Hexagon Cafe, or...More

Quaint shops, nice streets to walk around. Also a short walk from downtown, worth the trip if you're up for a stroll.

This is a great place to walk around. There are lots of good shops and restaurants. The problem is the parking. You will just have to be patient, or park a few blocks away, and walk to the area.

I once lived in Kensington and enjoyed it very much. Everything is walkable and affordable. So many unique stores and your everyday stores such as Safeway. No need for a car. Just a short walk across the bridge you can be in downtown Calgary. Kensington...More
