We were searching for something new to do and, while having lived in Calgary over 10 years, we had never been to the Fort Calgary museum. The museum has two basic elements: 1) a room tracing the history of Calgary like a social media feed,...More

Many Calgarians have already seen the exhibits in the museum at Fort Calgary, and for the price, they aren't a great value for visiting often. Newcomers or visitors may want to think about the indoor museum if interested in Calgary's fascinating history and don't mind...More

I visited Fort Calgary with friends from Australia. On entering, we were greeted well. However, the first display was about a display about the Indigenous Residential Schools. This was just on the news and none of us thought it appropriate that we were asked to...More

We walked in from downtown and it definitely is not worth the walk. Wouldn’t recommend unless you have done Calgary zoo, Calgary tower etc and still have time to kill!

On a visit to Flame's shop, I saw the sign for Fort Calgary and thought I would give the attraction ago for 1-2 hours. $12 entrance, which in my view is not awful for such an attraction. Staff really friendly and helpful. Visited Tuesday 11th...More

It was a bit of a walk to get to this Fort from our downtown hotel but well worth it (though there may be a bus available.) They have interesting, fun exhibits including one where people can take photos of themselves in a Canadian Mountie...More

This is well worth seeing, it showed how the fort was first constructed in the 19th Century and the hardships they endured. It give an insight to what life was like there for the first settlers, primarily it was for the North West Mounted Police,...More

We stopped here as we were early to arrive in Calgary and needed to fill in time. An interesting history but could do with a cafe. There were several people asked if there was a cafe while we were there.

If it's a work in progress and there are disruptions for weddings, why not inform the visitors before we pay? Check out Fort Langley in greater Vancouver and you'll tour a actual fort.

There was a lovely young man who wasn't a "real Mountie" was very happy to get photographs with the public. You should go to the Calgary Stampede and watch an event the RCMP perform. They are all in full uniform and are very... More

The red serge is a ceremonial uniform and so we only see the Mounties dressed this way on special occasions. Fort Calgary is an historic site and interpretive museum with no resident serving Mounties.
