Good for both people and urban scenery watching and there are some great specialist shops there too eg Lammies for urban cowboy gear esp the boots. Beautiful hanging flower baskets in early Sept.

Stephen Avenue oozes of old west, baron oil, and money. At least you get the feel of what it may have been like back in the day with the heritage buildings and interesting business names. Even going in February, with a cool wind blowing around,...More

It would be hard to think about downtown Calgary without the Stephen Avenue Walk. There are great indoor malls and stores all over downtown, and the Plus 15 system is fantastic. But sometimes, you just need to get outside, and Stephen Avenue Walk is great...More

Stephen Ave is so pretty with its baskets of flowers hanging from posts. Dozens of eateries. So many it was hard to choose. It also has entrances to the Core Shopping Mall which is huge

There is a definitley good people watching while sitting on a patio for a drink or dinner. The hanging baskets are beautiful. The architecture of the old buildings is beautiful as well. Lots of choices for restaurants and shopping too. If you are downtown, it...More

Nice walk by the various shops, bars and restaurants in Calgary's pedestrian area. Good variety of shops but quite a few bars not allowing in minors which restricted our options for a drink.

This is a downtown section of street which becomes a pedestrian zone from 6am until 6pm; so 8th Ave between 1st and 4th streets turns into Stephen Ave Walk. Banners and hanging planters designate this zone of shops and restaurants. Admire the preserved historic red-brick...More

Nice area right downtown. Couple blocks of mainly pedestrian stroll. Nice but not spectacular. Shopping, some bars and restaurants with patios. Mainly upscale. You're gonna have to buy something to use a bathroom sobering your wallet.
