My husband and I just returned from our second trip to the Canadian Rockies. Wanted to do things we hadn't done on our earlier trip, and a guided hike 'off the beaten path' was at the top of the list. Our hotel (Post Hotel) highly recommended Great Divide and they were spot on! We hit the jackpot with Joel, who... More

I am so pleased that my husband convinced me that it was a good idea to book a guided hike on our recent trip to Banff and I am even more pleased that we booked it with Great Divide! We had fantastic day with Joel who obviously loves what he does and where he does it. He was informative, funny... More

Joel took us (4 adventurous ladies) on an all day hike at Lake Louise. He was able to show us so much of the wildlife - pikas, ground squirrels, nutcracker birds and with his eagle eye he spotted two different mountain goats. We learned about the rock flour flowing into the lake, avalanches, glacial movement, the history of the railroad... More

It was the first trip to the Canadian Rockies for us. I find a good guide is the key to a great experience and Joel was everything I could have hoped for and more. We were fortunate enough to go to Lake O'Hara. It was on our list and I know it would have been a great day no matter... More

We really enjoyed our hike to the Plain of Six Glaciers with Nadine. She is very enthusiastic and very knowledgeable about Lake Louise, the plants, and the wildlife of the area. Her "Natural Disaster" theme was very informative and memorable. We also stopped by the Plain of Six Glaciers Tea House for lunch. The sandwich hit the spot and the... More

I had booked a day trip hike with Nan of Great Divide Hikes. Unfortunately, my wife came down with a serious infection and we had to cancel this hike. I expected a fee since we canceled the day before our hike day. HERE IS HOW CLASSY NAN WAS- she wrote to us (called too) to tell us that there would... More

Thanks for your review, Art, even if we weren't able to take you on a hike. It was very kind of you to take the time to write. People sometimes get ill or are injured during their holidays, and in situations like this, we don't charge them for the trip they've booked. It seems unfair to make someone pay for... More

Went on a fabulous hike with Joel at Lake Louise. The Plain of Six Glaciers was stunning and Joel brought the history, geology and surrounding nature to life on our hike. So often we don't see the whole picture when we look at the famous postcards, but Joel peeled away all of the layers allowing for a deeper knowledge and... More

On February 20th, 2016 we went to Snowshoeing trip with Great Divide Nature Interpretation! Our guide Nadine, a passionate enthusiast about nature entertained us with her expertise in Naural Science which made our trip immensely beneficial and enjoyable!! She chose the Hector Lake Trail at Bow Lake, Icefields Parkway for our trip. Snowshoeing along the dense forest and through a... More

My partner and I went back in July 2014 (unfortunately the date did not go back that far). We did 2 guided trips with Joel to Helen Lake (and met a hoary marmot called Clive!) and Yoho Lake Loop and it was one of the highlights of our hiking experience in the rockies. We learnt so much from Joel about... More
