Search no farther, it's time to book your dog sledding tour with Kingmik.
My wife and I recently visited Lake Louise three weekends ago (right before COVID-19 started) to have an adventurous weekends in the Canadian Rockies. Needless to say we were blown away by the adventure, skiing, and scenery!
On our adventure we had researched companies for dog sledding as we thought it would be a fun new experience. Kingmik took us on an adventure of a lifetime. My wife and I were teamed up with an experienced guide, Chloe, who showed us the ropes for how to dog sled in Canada. Chloe made us feel like we were a part of her family, feeling like after five minutes we had known her for years. She was knowledge, knowledgable about all aspects of her job, the animals...simply put she crushed it.
If you are considering booking a trip for dog sledding in the Lake Louise area, we would highly recommend you book your trip with Kingmik! Thank you Chloe for an amazing adventure!!!!

Thank you so much for the most amazing feedback! I don't know if you went with Big Chloe or Little Chloe ( they represent the far ends of the spectrum!) but I'm confident they both crushed it.. Every day. In the cold and wind and dark and snow!. Thru all the poo scooping and heavy lifting and frozen sandwiches. They always put the dogs needs and guests needs before their own. My guides make me so proud!! And so do the dogs! thanks and all the best.

Taking a dog sled ride was one of the things left to do on our bucket list. We decided on the short trip (30 minutes) and it was an excellent idea.
The dogs were all very friendly (with some shy exceptions that the guides told us about) and boy when they started getting hitched up .....did the excitement level ever climb. These dogs just love to run. The trip was very relaxed and because the sled is so quiet once you get going, you can have an easy conversation with your guide/driver.
There were several short stops during the trip to let the dogs catch their breath and my guide explained that she guages how long to let them rest based on how they are acting.
An excellent activity for adults and families alike as you can go with multiple people in a sled or solo for more space (at a slightly higher cost).
Shout out to M-P and James for the tour.
Highly recommended.

While up at Lake Louise for a weekend charity event and had the pleasure of participating in this dog-sledding activity. Our musher (Chloe) was very friendly, but also very caring and passionate about her team of dogs. We were introduced to each and were educated as to their individual personalities, strengths (and weaknesses). We were very impressed by the company's life-long care of these beautiful dogs. Very comfortable riding in the sled and were even given the opportunity to drive (well sort of). I would highly recommend this outing for anyone looking. I would recommend booking early though as my attempt last year on short notice was unsuccessful.

The great divide tour with KingMik tours was the highlight of our Canadian Adventure. Our tour guides Keva and MP were amazing hosts, they love the dogs and love their job... we were out in -28 degree weather and the guides managed to ensure we were warm ( with extra hand and feet warmers ) and also gave us an opportunity to drive the sled which was pretty cool ... great tour, great team , beautiful dogs ... couldn’t recommend them highly enough

It’s hard to explain why my wife and I have always wanted to do this but we have. We have had chances in other European resorts and not heard good things about time spent for cost.
So when we decided to go to Canada and Lake Louise, we saw this advertised and decided to enrol.
We paid our money in the UK and gave the paperwork to the man on reception at the hotel in Lake Louise inn. He contacted Kingmik company for a time that suited us.
We arrived a bit early for the activity but saw them come back with a earlier group and feed and change the dogs over.
We where allowed to get to know the dogs and take as many photos as possible before we head off. We where then given our dog sledge guide “James” with leader dogs Dr, Lorax, and Velo, Team Hazel and Bow and wheel Wallace and Hampshire.
All dogs where very well and had good shiny coats wet noses and bright clear eyes. As soon as the harnessing is attached they just want to run, in fact it’s hard to keep them still.
James made sure we where tucked in and gave us some safety points for the activity.
We set off at a great pace but this soon steadied to a trot and James explained all about the individual dogs characters, how they live and looked after. He also explained how the big races are conducted and how the dogs are managed on them.
We arrived later on at the Great Divide which is where Alberta and British Columbia meet in the National park. We had a few more photos and waited for the other teams catch up.
Once we had all done photos and turned around we set off again this time taking in some of the forest. James gave us a talk on the wildlife that thrives within it Bears, Moose, Elk, Wolf, Coyote, horseshoe hares and porcupine.
James even gave us the chance to control the team, which I did.
The power in the dogs at initial pulling off is tremendous. We made our way back to the start and was given more photo opportunities and a chance to feed them.
It was well worth the experience and it’s something I shall never forget, I have some fantastic photos and video of our experience. Well done James and the dog team and Kingmik for making a unforgettable experience for my wife and I 🇨🇦🇬🇧👍

We had an awesome experience with KingMik! The dogs are friendly and well taken care of. The staff was extremely informative throughout the tour and we learned a lot about the dogs as well as the landscape and wildlife in Lake Louise. I’d strongly recommend a KingMik dogsled tour to anyone who has never been dog sledding before!

My wife and I took the "Great Divide Tour" and it was a thoroughly enjoyable experience. We liked meeting each of the dogs in our sled's crew and learning lots about them. Big thanks to James, our guide and fellow Brit, for his informative insight into not only the lives of the dogs (which he clearly adores), but also opportunities to learn about some of the wildlife that resides in the trails that the sleds pass through. The whole experience was uplifting, exhilarating and lots of fun. Having the chance to stand next to James and get a feel for the musher's role was superb! I have to say that when you see how excited the dogs are to get on with doing what they clearly love, it's quite heart-warming. There is a real sense that the musher and their dogs are a close family.

For our honeymoon, my husband and I decided to go to Banff/Lake Louise and went dog sledding with Kingmik! Our guide/musher was Cynthia, and we were so lucky to have her! The team of Alaskan huskies that we had were hers personally, and she raised and took care of each and every one! You can tell she treated and loved them more than family. The dogs looked so so happy, and were so excited whenever they started sledding! We got to know each of her dogs so well, and they were the most gentle and loving dogs ever. An incredible experience that we will never forget! We chose the 1.5 hour tour, and although it is more expensive than the shorter tour, it was totally worth it. Thank you, Cynthia!!

I had wanted to book a tour for my husband’s 50th birthday, after doing much research and reading of reviews. I decide to book with Kingmik, the best decision ever! We were the first tour of Winter 2020, and it was truly fabulous. The 2 guides, Cynthia and James were so professional (COVID precautions/requirements) friendly and welcoming. The dogs... unbelievable! Cynthia was our personal guide, the love that she has for her dogs could not be beaten, their care is so important and it showed. She was so informative and incredibly friendly, this has to be one of the best experiences ever, words can’t describe enough. We are truly thankful for being able to experience this wonderful adventure, Thank You!

I was very impressed with the staff and how the dogs were managed. As a dog lover I appreciate how much care and attention goes into raising happy healthy dogs. I speak from having to care for 2 dogs....There were more than 60 dogs when we went and all the dogs were happy and well cared for. The mushers knew each dog down to their personality. Which ones got along, which ones didn't, and what they liked or didn't like. Very unique experience.

can you tell me if its really knocks you around in the sled. I have some lower back issues and want to experience this myself but have been told it can be quite a rough ride? Can you give me your experience with this?
thanks

My husband and I considered the ride to be smooth; you're actually traveling over the old highway with gradual curves. We thoroughly enjoyed the ride and what a rush! Hope you're able to experience it.

We have a group of three people, one of them will be considered/ charged as sole rider?

Yes this is accurate. We do not match up strangers as it is very intimate seating.

We are coming to Lake Louise in September...do you offer any dog sledding at that time?
Written April 7, 2019
Hi there. We sled on snow only. That falls in late November so no, no doglsedding in September.

Is dogsledding a “bumpy” ride for someone who has moderate back issues?
Thank you!

We are looking to visit the area 11/28-12/2. What would be the probably that there will be adequate snow for dog sledding? It’s for my 50th birthday so I don’t want to make the trip if I cBt have the once in a lifetime experience :)

Hi there, We are looking at "dropping the puck" on Nov 30th (which i already booked out) but going forward there is availability on the following days up to Dec 2. You can either book on line thru the website or call Julie in the office and she will get you booked in. This is all weather dependant of course. If we do not get enough snow we will have to delay till we do! Ta!

Hi, I am booking travel insurance for my visit to Canada and wasn’t sure whether I needed to include dog sledding cover (adds around £200 onto my insurance) or whether it is covered when you buy “the great divide experience”- I was given a gift voucher to go dog sledding, I am very excited.
Written September 24, 2018
Don't think it is necessary to purchase insurance. They would cover you. Contact them direct to be sure

What is the likelihood of snow in 2 weeks?
Written September 7, 2018
Hi there. Snow very unlikely in two weeks. Might get a dusting but nothing that will stick around for long. We need a good base to run sleds ( 12 inches packed) ..which we plan on for Dec 1
Autumn colours will be nice tho!
