The falls are a short 5 to 10 minute drive from the center of downtown Banff depending on traffic. The falls are beautiful and the walk along the river provides nice view of the falls, bow River and of course the Banff Springs hotel. You can see the hotel on the higher ridge path along the river

This is a great day hike with easy to navigate paths. Be warned though there are a lot of steps. The views are breathtaking and it's so peaceful. We actually visited twice there's some picnic areas so the second time we just sat by the water and had lunch. This is also a good area where rafters and canoers put... More

We stopped at the bow falls at the other side of the river which gives a terrific view over the legendary Banff Springs Hotel. The bow falls as such are also nice. ;-)

More cascades then falls on the Bow River viewable from paths along either side of the river. Take a moderate stroll/hike (since there is some elevation involved) from downtown, and then cross the parking lot to take the stairs up to the Banff Springs hotel.

Bow Falls is worth the drive or short walk from town. From downtown Banff, it is a 15 to 20 minute walk. The falls are just below the Fairmont Banff Springs Hotel. It is just a short walk up the hill to get to the hotel. Don't miss this if you are in Banff.

Bow falls is beautiful and a nice walk along the river from town. If staying at the Fairmont Banff Springs, it's a must see as it is so close.

Bow Falls is a bit of a misnomer. The falls are more of rapids on steroids. If you are in Banff or near the Banff Springs Hotel it is definitely worth seeing as the rushing water and surrounding area are nice to see.

We stopped at the falls while at the Banff Springs Hotel and they are beautiful. There is a spot for pictures and a trail to walk on, but not necessary to get a great view.

Most of the guide books will tell you to hike to these falls. I agree it will probably be a scenic hike but you can also very easily drive to them and there is parking for cars and RVs. There is plenty of viewing room from the shoreline and an additional trail to get you an above view of the... More
