Something really fun to do in Banff - go for 1, 2, 3 hours.

We did the hour long Spray River Ride. Horses were all very gentle, so if you haven't ridden before it, is ideal. We were gone for more than an hour. Lovely scenery and friendly staff.

I had a wonderful time on the Spray River Ride, which is 1 to 1.5 hours in length. You get to cross the river twice, which was a lot of fun. It's pretty easy even for first time riders (wasn't my first time), as they are trail horses and pretty much follow the lead horse. Anyone scared to do it,... More

Our family went on the one hour spray river ride. We had children ages 9, 13, 17 and we all loved it. We went through beautiful forests, mountains, through river 3 times and past a waterfall. It seemed like it was longer than one hour. Excellent guide.

My daughter and I bought a Groupon for the 1 hr Bow River Trail Ride. Since we were only going to arrive in town (Banff) late in the afternoon, we reserved the last times slots available for this ride- 5pm). We were pleasantly surprised that this ride, starting at the Fairmont Hotel grounds, was actually a 2 hour ride to... More

The spouse and I (both mid-late 40s) took a 2 day ride lead by Mike; Zane lead the mule pack; Steve was our chef. We stayed overnight at Sundance Lodge. Everything about the trip was wonderful. The weather was perfect, which always makes a difference when you're on an adventure vacation. The hospitality was second to none. I was fortunate... More

I had a few issues with this, but my biggest problem was that it bore very little resemblance to the description on the website or the promotional literature. We did the Bow Valley Loop ride which is advertised as the most scenic of the rides, with sweeping views of Bow Valley. For the three hours we were out, nearly all... More

My wife and I just came back from our honeymoon in Banff which included our horseback expedition from Banff Trail Riders. We decided to go for the slightly more advanced ride and booked the 3 day Stoney Advanced tent trip. Upon arrival, we set our bags aside and were whisked up the mountain to meet our horses. All horses were... More

This trip doesn't have its own tripadvisor entry. But I do think it's worth writing about. We opted for 3 day riding, staying at the campsite at Stoney Creek by the river. Our very experienced and knowledgeable guide, Greg, looked after us during the ride outs. He cooked up some great smokies and steaks on the stove that the mule... More

I have been around horses most of my life as I grew up on a farm and at one point we had 12, so I can ride. But I've not ridden in 30 years and my wife really wanted to ride in the parks but not for too long as to give our boys a chance to enjoy it too... More
