I wasn't expecting the wagon ride and BBQ to be as good as it was, but I would recommend the experience. It started off rather scarily with the automated barrier coming down on the horses, but the drivers was experienced and it didn't affect our overall enjoyment. In the woods we were taught roping and horse-shoe throwing while we awaited... More

We took the 2 hr ride. Through the muck of the forest, along the Bow River, straight up a mountain and then down. It was hard to take pictures on the horse. So even though you are encouraged to bring a camera, it is very hard with the motion of the horse and to take pictures with one hand. That... More

My friend and I took a 2 hour trail ride here on a lovely sunny fall afternoon and thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. The trail guides were very good in that they were not overbearing and very patient. I'd recommend this for anyone wanting a great outdoor adventure while in Banff! This was my second time here and the horses were so... More

We signed up for an overnight ride 5 months in advance (this was how long we had to wait!). 2 weeks before our ride we had notice that our trip would leave at 11:30 instead of 9:30 because of a race in town. We arrived at 11 and were not allowed to turn down sundance road. After 2 phone calls... More

We went on the chuck Wagon BBQ. There was around 16 or more of us. It was very cold when we arrived but there was blankets in the wagon. It seemed to me the most important thing was to sign the release form. We went out into a wagon with a red top which did not inspire me to be... More

We are in Banff for our honeymoon and thought we'd try some Canadian fun and booked on for the Cowboy Cookout. It's a 3 hour tour were you ride your horses down to a lodge, eat and then take a longer routw back on Sulphur Mountain. Being a bit nervous around horses I was given the choice to stay near... We had an evening chuck wagon tour one evening, had a great bbq dinner and then a great tour back at dusk. The young lady driving our wagon was a delight and very informative about the local flora and fauna. When we arrived at the campsite it was a bit cold and damp, but a roaring fire was welcoming. The... More

The only thing bad I can say about our 6 day - 5 night backcountry lodge trip is that it has been very depressing to return home. From the minute we met our guide / trail-side cook / stand up comedian Mark, we knew it would be a great trip. When we first arrived, we met our six companions (who... More

We rode the shortest, cheapest route and it was fab - a one hour ride along the river and it was a beautiful route. I have never been horse riding before and was admittedly a little nervous however there was no need to be. Apart from the member of staff in the 'shed' where you fill out your disclaimer form... This ride is suitable for people with no experience, or those with lots. The ride does have some technically difficult parts, but the company does a very good job of matching the horse to the rider's abilities. If you sign up, you will get a list from the company with what to bring. It includes basic items such as a... More
