Walk the retreating path of the mighty Athabasca Glacier with an experienced guide and learn how Mother Nature transforms a landscape that appears desolate and barren into a valley of lush vegetation and wildlife. You will see plants that hold unique adaptations to survive the harsh mountain climate, rocks that tell the ancient story of mountain building, and techniques that will help you survive off the land like the early Explorers and Native Aboriginals.

The newly opened sky walk over the glacier is an additional attraction to visit this magnificent place. Do carry thick woolens even in summer, the view is simply stunning and it's dream come true, a heaven on earth. Sad to know that the glacier is receding every year and receded more than 1.5 km over the last 125 years !.... More

If you are interested in the surrounding areas, glaciers, animals etc you should definitely take a visit here. It is so worth it. It is not just the skywalk which is this great glass floored walkway out over a canyon, they have really thought about how to get people engaged with their surroundings. You get a handheld audio tour as... More

It is a skywalk over a canyon you can see from the road, little more than a novelty, spend your money elsewhere.

The skywalk thing is quite good. I thought i would be bored but i spent an hour here and didn't feel like it's a waste of time nor money. Yes, it is packed with people but there are breaks in between the rush for great picture ops. Definitely make time for this if you are in the area.

On our visit to Columbia Icefields we had purchased a Banff Adventure package, which included admission to the Scenic Walk along with 3 other attractions. It's tough when my children and grandsons ran onto the skywalk and it took me almost 20 minutes to get enough courage. That first step is tough!!! But I did it and am so glad I did. What a beautiful view...even below your feet! It's amazing how they even built the skywalk. The skywalk is now part of the Columbia... More

Not for faint of heart or squeamish as you hang over the gorge on a glass walkway suspended from the mountain. But definitely a engineering marvel. Free interpretive guide details the backgroung of this project as well as points out what to look for on the river, the gorge and mountain.

We bought the Brewster Epic pass and decided to visit the skywalk. It was worth the money and time spent. We did not do it last year as there were lots of tourists. Weekdays might be better. We did the ice field first and then the sky walk. From Calgary you can do these two attractions in one day.

We did the Glacier Skywalk first and the views were great! It was pretty crowded when we were there - would have been nice to have the number of people limited. Since we weren't able to get the full glacier tour, we opted to walk up a half mile trail to the glacier which was still really cool. These are... More
