The streets are fairly empty in the winter months, with most of the visitors coming to ski or snowboard. It is a pleasant walk on a sunny winter day

Many shops and restaurants along this quaint street - very touristy, but enough local and Canadian feel to make you want to keep looking in stores. Not super well plowed for those with mobility issues. We saw someone trying to navigate the side walks in a wheel chair and this is was very very difficult as there was a huge... More

Very popular street in Banff. A lot of different store and many good place to stop to eat and admire your surrounding. It was a warm day and we did walk pretty much all day until the evening.

Probably not as picturesque as usual right now with the hotel under construction but nonetheless the street offers that famous photo with the street aligning directly with that tall, beautiful mountain peak background (which I didn't exactly get because it was too cold to make the effort). On that note, be sure to pack warm if you intend to walk... More

You just can'y go wrong with this street! Surrounded by beauty, amazingness and great shops. You don't need to spend money to enjoy the street

My wife loves walking Banff Avenue summer or winter and her favorite store is Snowflake......of course it's a clothing store!!! But she loves the jackets, scarves & everything else. It is expensive.

Very quaint 'village' Main Street but there are approximately 8 tacky, tasteless tourist retailers in a small area all selling exactly the same merchandise! Upon investigation, all owned by same person. Thought shopping would have been more diverse & tasteful. Such a beautiful environment and quaint shop fronts. Suggest an activity instead!

There was a fire at the Mount Royal Hotel, so they've closed some of the lanes of Banff Avenue in front of that place for a while. Banff Avenue has always been the heart of Banff town. While there are shops and restaurants on a few of the other roads in town, the bulk of them are located on or... More
