    Strolling inside the Cascade Gardens
It was a nice walk from our hotel, Mount Royal. You see the beautiful water running along the Bow river on our way to the Cascade Gardens. Once you get there, you would have a very good view of the Banff town. Nice walk inside the Gardens.

    Loved All the Gardens
What a beautiful location. You can only tour the grounds for free. So many beautiful flowers and gardens. It’s on many levels with small waterfall accents as well. Lovely grounds to picnic or relax. My only complaint were the rude people and those who walk through a garden or let their children run through them.

    Lovely free garden in Banff
This was the first thing I did upon arrival in Banff in the morning, and it was a lovely start to my trip! The gardens were beautiful and peaceful (and free) and they give you a great view of Banff Ave. from an elevated vantage point. There are some stairs but it was an easy walk. There are some benches throughout. There was plenty of parking (also free). This will most likely be a relatively quick stop, but I enjoyed it.

The gardens are gorgeous! This is a must see!
I wasn’t planning on going here but our tour bus made a stop and I’m so glad it did!! From the street its beautiful but once you enter and head in back of the building it is extraordinary! I got the most amazing pictures! The mountains in the back ground with the amazing pools, waterfalls, landscaping, and flowers were fantastic. It is free to enter, you don’t go inside the building, you just walk around the grounds. I highly recommend it!!!

One of my favorites. Loved loved loved the gardens. No one should miss these beautiful, spectacular gardens. What a wonderful place to sit and look and smell the fragrance of the flowers. Waterfalls are awesome. So peaceful and a place not to miss plus it’s free too.

Really nice rock gardens and a great change-of-pace from busy Banff
Didn't know about this, just saw it on the other side of the bridge as we walked to the end of the main Banff avenue. We went up, found the gate was unlocked, and went in and explored. Great rock gardens up a slope, and you can sit down on the stone walls and look down on the town and the beautiful mountain peak directly in the distance. What's not to like?

    Amazingly beautiful gardens
At the end of main street in Banff is a large almost castle like building. The grounds are beautiful with a lot of beautiful flowers and little streams and garden-waterfalls. The garden in front of the building is beautiful but the garden to the right and back is really amazing. I noticed a lot of tourists only looking in the front and unaware that the main garden is to the right and back of the building. You need to walk up to appreciate it all. The wood carving bridges and benches are also beautiful and unique.

    Tranquil terraced gardens
The gardens in front of and behind the Municipal Buildings were beautifully laid out and maintained. It was peaceful to walk along the little paths meandering through the flowers beds and beside streams. There were little bridges and quite a few steps as the area is terraced, so it's not suitable for prams, wheelchairs or mobility scooters. There was also a large area of lawn and trees. There were stunning views of the surrounding peaks, in particular Cascade Mountain. The Municipal Building was an attractive structure too!

If you want a slower pace thing to do in Banff, you must go to Cascade Gardens. Its not huge but it packs a punch with color, fragrance and scenery! And the view you get of Banff Ave. is awesome. Several different area's to do some great family, selfie or couples pictures. Well, worth the walk up to it. I recommend going in the evening if you want something a little quieter.

These gardens are beautiful, free and worth while stop In Banff nestled behind the Parks Canada Administration Building. The building is under renovations right now and the fountain was not turned on, either due to the renovations or due to COVID but the gardens were still beautiful. I can't wait to return to see them in all their glory next year.

We like to go to Cascade Gardens at least once a year. We went on Aug 12 this year when the flowers were in their magnificent glory. There has been a lot of work to redo the stonework and add to the gardens over the past few years. It's truly lovely. There are park benches and pergolas. The stairs are made of stone slabs so watch your step and tread carefully.

A lovely place to visit, especially for families. Very well groomed and there are plenty of benches. It is also colourful in late summer because flowers are there in abundance. Looking straight east, one has a fantastic view of Mt.Rundle and Banff Avenue. One of the best views in Banff. The Administration Building is also very lovely, built from natural materials, mainly Rundle rock.

Small, colourful oasis of calm designed around a series of pools that drop down the hillside. Thematically a cross between a Chinese and English garden it is a nice place to spend 30 minutes or so. Unusually for the area, there is no charge so there is a brief reprieve for your wallet. From the top there is a nice view over the Bow river and down Banff Avenue.

We really enjoyed the flowers and water features in the garden. Last time the water feature was dry/being worked on so it was great to see it in operation.
One time we saw a group of hummingbirds but did not see this time.
This attraction is free and free parking.

I have been to Banff several times and I can't believed I haven't been here earlier. I've been missing out on the best picnics spot in Banff! The gardens are a beautiful place to revel in the beauty of Banff and let the kids ramble and play. It also provides a great background for family photos.
