This was a great steady hike with a fairly wide trail. Lots of switchbacks. Views at the top were amazing and the optional boardwalk was wonderful! Highly recommend! Only advice is to go before noon or so if you plan on riding the gondola down.

I know that I can honestly say that my whole family enjoyed the experience. My wife was very dubious about the ride in the gondola on the way up facing forwards, apart from going over the gantries she thoroughly enjoyed the trip. Once at the top the views were to die for. So clear that you could see for miles... More

enjoyed the gondola ride to the top - loading was fast and efficient - 4 to a car - its really expensive though ~ 50 cad - theres a free brewsters bus from downtown banff. dont listen to the weather forecasts - theres a wind chill factor at the top - you will need a good warm layer and wind... the mountain is accessible by gondola(fee) and a hiking trail. on top of the mountain runs a boardwalk between two peaks which give you an amazing view of the surroundings and the town of Banff

It took us about 1:30 hours to make it to the top. I would recommend wearing hiking boots and bring plenty of water and snacks. It is a constant incline with some areas steeper than others. The view from the top is breathtaking. You can take the gondola down (or up) but we chose to hike both ways.

Did the usual gondola ride up the mountain which was a pretty fast ride. Great photo points at the top and a recommended visit spot.

Good walk up Sulphur Mountain, the track zig zags all the way up the side of the mountain, you climb very quickly, sometimes you are under the Gondola path. The walk normally takes one and a half hours but that is at a steady pace so it may take longer with younger children. Go early in the morning, it's quite... More

Thought we would do the hike to the top of the mountain and take the gondola down. Problem was it was going to take has long to hike down as it was to wait for the gondola! This is a very busy tourist area on any given day during peak season. The hike is about five km up and is... More

Great view of Banff but be prepared to queue at least 1/2 hour before you get a gondola. A lot of construction going on at the moment. Good gift shop .

We went up sulphur mountain via the gondola after eating in the cafe down below and buying some gifts from the little shop. Very well organised and lovely board walks at the top with stupendous views. We had good visibility and saw lots of critters including ground squirrels and Marmots
