The Icefields Parkway extends from Lake Louise to Jasper Alberta. 144 miles of natural beauty. The parkway is full of glaciers and lakes. Campgrounds are along the parkway so that you can spend days exploring the land. At one point, you can get into a bus that will take you up to a glacier riding coach so you can ride... More

This is listed as one of the most scenic highways in the world - and they are not wrong. A must do - an easy drive that should only take a couple of hours between Saskatchewan River Crossing and Jasper but there are so many stopping places to admire the views that you could easily double that time.

I have never been on a road that when one returned in the other direction it felt as if you were on another road, just as magnificent. Don't make our mistake and try and do 5 or 6 hours. Yes you can do it and have a great experience but it deserves at least a day each way. We now... More

My husband and I had always wanted to go to the Icefields Parkway after a Ranger and professional photographer told us that this was one of the most beautiful places he has photographed. So in early Sept. we traveled across country from the coast of Virginia to Montana and up into the Icefields Parkway. It took us 5 days to... More

I've taken helicopter flights up onto glaciers in NZ and Northern Europe and compared to that, this is a bit ho hum. What made it terrific was the young man driving the vehicle onto the glacier. Knowledgable and engaging. You go if your in the area but be ready for huge crowds. Do not eat at set off point. It... More

This drive is amazing for the sheer number and size of glaciers you can see in a short distance. The views are better on the drive south from Jasper to Banff. We made the round trip drive from Lake Louise to Maligne Lake and back on a long rainy day. We were able to stop at a few overlooks, but... More

The weather was great, the scenery was spectacular, but we saw very little wild-life ... it's all in the luck of the draw I guess. As expected, lots of other tourist buses, but our driver was great and always seemed to be either just ahead of everyone else ... or parked just that bit closer to each attraction. We travelled... My wife and I decided to drive down the Icefield Parkway on the way to Banff from Edmonton (obviously went via Jasper) It was a rainy day when we went but this didn't bother us as we decided we wouldn't stop and do any of the attractions as mainly we didn't have the time. The start of the Parkway was... More

Most people drive this beautiful route in the Rockies, which is great. But try it on a bicycle! It brought us closer to nature with the sights, sounds and smells, as well as seeing the amazing scenery unfold as we cycled, without having to look through glass! We took 4 days to cycle the 290km from Jasper to Banff in... More

We didn't know what to expect from this attraction, but nothing had prepared us for the experience of actually standing on a glacier. The whole experience was made a whole lot better by our driver Jaques, she was a bundle of energy, a great driver and such fun. She gave us the history of the ice field and glacier in... More
