Living in Brighton we are used to doing "hills" however the starting altitude here is a little higher and this is what will affect you. The trail is largely made up and zig zags up the side of the mountain through the trees giving glimpses of Lake Louise below. Towards the top erosion has made the path not as straightforward... Busy steep walk to the tea house which was built in the 20's. Great place for a snack or a sandwich. 4 biscuits with jam and a small pot of tea and a glass of lemonade is only $23.00. Yes everything does have to be carried in hence the price. Nice to do the challenge and add the Six Glaciers... More

We walked to Lake Agnes and continued to the small beehive - The view from the top was amazing and the best way to see the lake and surrounding views, our trip wouldn't have been the same if we had just stayed at the bottom. We didn't go to the big beehive as this was a steeper and longer walk... More

The lake is well worth the climb from Lake Louise and is surrounded by fantastic mountains. The tearoom beside the lake is a unique facility.

We hiked up only to Mirror Lake on a weekday. The trail was very busy. It is reasonably steep and there are not many level spots. Good views of Lake Louise are available about three quarters of the way from Lake Louise. Mirror Lake is small but fairly attractive. I could not see any fish in it but that activity... More

Before I talk about the hike, let me preface this with Adam and I being at different levels of fitness. I (Jo) found the walk adequate but I acknowledge I actively train and run a couple of times a week at home. For Adam, the hike was labouring given we had hiked tunnel mountain (Banff) the day prior. The hike... More

Coming down to Lake Agnes after being on The Little Beehive it's like a calm valley. It's like the lake and the horizon melts together where the water is pouring down the waterfall to the Mirror Lake below. It's a good picnic spot and there is the Tea House where you can buy coffee, tea and food. There is a... More

This was our first challenging hike with our 5 years old. Took us about 2 hours to get there (made multiple rest stops for our kid). The view up there is totally worth it. Make sure to bring proper footwear and water.

Nice hike; doable in about 2 to 3 hrs; it does get busy during the day time. I highly recommend this. We don't need to be in great physical shape to do this.

There is no dispute that Lake Agnes is a very beautiful spot. Still, for hiking - there are better options. Coming up to the Lake is great of course, but the hiking up is not adding anything to it. It is simply a very crowed walk up the mountain side in the forest (only a few rare glimpses of the... More
