Hive Beach itself is a mixture of sandy and shingle. The views along the coast from it are pretty and the cliffs are part of the Jurassic Coast so interesting for fossils and layers of rock. A favourite for some fishermen with their tents parked near the water's edge. Car parking is free for National Trust members. The South Coast... More

A lovely spot. Lovely cafe ( we only had tea this time) but it is a busy cafe so when you're about to be served and the staff are busy chatting to one another and the person who could have asked us what we want was clearly somewhere else in their head. I had to draw his attention. Then we... More

Beautiful scenery and a peaceful environment. A good walk along the beach or a visit to the cafe is a must.

Just a lovely (small pebbled/course sand) beach. Clean. Great views. Ample parking provided by the National Trust (so free for us).

We stayed at a nearby campsite and walked to Hive Beach. Absolutely stunning. It's a shame the weather was so bad otherwise I would of sat on the beach all day. The cliffs are amazing and the beach is golden. Well worth a visit!

Brilliant beach scene with shingle and towering cliffs. You are in Jurassic country and its pristine under the NT's watchful care. Good parking on the gentle slope down to the beach. Great cliff top walking, but be careful of the crumbling cliff edges

The sun shone to make the experience even better. The cliff walk was closed so we walked on the beach of shingles. Lovely sound of waves on the shingles and a very pleasant walk with stunning scenery

Massive stretch of sand and shingle beach, with stunningly beautiful cliffs at one end. Almost deserted out of season and dog friendly. Great coastal walk on the path above.
