This area is home to many monasteries and the famous gates that adorn private homes. The Barsana monastery has it all. Located on a hill top with gorgeous views is a collection of architecturally wonderful buildings and a magnificent ornate gate surrounded by beautiful landscaping.

Very beautiful place in the middle of a space where traditions were forgotten. The church is absolutley wonderful and the wallpaintings done in very light colours, contrasting with monasteries in Bucovina. It is a place which has to be visited.

Spent quite a bit of time there photographing this beautiful place. The grounds were beautifully landscaped with perennial flowers and the buildings are just captivating.

Fantastic experience. The best complex I have ever seen, composed of several unique buildings, a wooden church and a small but beautiful museum. If you are in the area, don't miss it.
