- Dylan L9 contributionsMany memories on one beachI'm not the most traveled person but from the various beaches I have been on in mexico including some semi private ones this one is my favourite. It's a nice long walk to get from where the sand starts to the water and atleast 2km long from river mouth to the nuevo harbour. Early morning the shore has many small shells to look at. The waves ranged in size the whole time I was here from 2ft to 5ft. The day of the 5ft waves life guards made themself known by whistling in people out to far and advising them of the red flag warning out. The unexpected treat of this beach was the sea turtle sanctuary where nests are protected and baby turtles are released/escorted down the sand early every morning. Be advised this is a protected thing. Visitors are not to touch/use flash photography/or get infront of the baby turtles and by no means pic them up and place them in the water. It has to do with there natural instincts to return to the beach to lay eggs in 20 years. But it is a site to be seen. I had the luckiest of encounters when I witness 2 baby turtles sticking there heads out of the sand I ran to the sanctuary and got a staff member who came over and dug up the hatchlings which totalled 4 and took them to be released by escort the next night/early morning. Birds that eat the baby turtles are all over. To close, if u want more than great sand and long beach and the chance to experiance something more. This is a great beach, full of memories to be had.Visited January 2020Traveled as a coupleWritten January 5, 2020
- Marvin RCicero, New York12 contributionsSun, sand, easy walking. This beach goes on for miles around the Bandaras Bay. We've stayed at Vidanta and father north, at Flamingos, just south of Bucerias. Most of this area is adjoined by three to six story hotels and residences. But there is lots of room to walk, especially when the tide is out. There is a constant parade of swimmers, sunners, walkers and water sporters. There are many little botique massage and food places along the way. We've walked beaches on seven continents and this is one of the best.Visited February 2020Written February 25, 2020
- Krokay14413 contributionsNuevo Vallarta Beach is Perfect!A beautiful long beach to walk on and great sunsets. Many birds can be seen every day and since I am a watercolor artist I captured great photos to use as references for future art works. Sand is perfect and we even found a few Venus clam shells. Hardly any tourists there right now so I was able to get lovely panoramic shots of the beach every day too. It was 78 degrees every day and the water was fine for swimming- never saw any little jellies so that was also nice😀. We saw a few families and the kids were having so much fun because it’s very shallow way out into the waves and no drop off.Visited February 2021Traveled with friendsWritten February 15, 2021

We even upgraded to the new park last year that is not built yet. They asked us to talk to them about any questions we might have, so we said. "sure." Funny thing about that, was when we got to our meeting the gal didn't ask us once about any questions we had. She just told us about how she could win a car if we paid another 33,000 dollars. And then we would get the type of room we were promised to get if we paid the extra the year before. Problem #2. Walking down to the pool for our unit, they blocked the path and was putting a gondola in that would block the ocean views. They didn't go out of their way to shuttle you down to the pool so you had to walk to another pool then down by the beach to get to it. The construction taking place makes this place a little less desirable at this time 3/2020Visited February 2020Written March 9, 2020

A few crocodile warnings and sightings add an element of risk to swimming. However, I am not aware of anyone actually getting attacked by a crocodile. The sand is coarse and kitty-litter textured and nowhere near the white sand of the south pacific or Indian Ocean beaches. However - the usual great weather and the short flight time from Canada do compensate somewhat!Visited November 2021Written December 6, 2021
- Joseph J5 contributionsBetter than expected! We love the beach at NV! The constant waves provide endless fun for boogie-boarding, body surfing or just jumping around and being silly. Low tide offers lots of opportunity to find shells and small sea creatures like hermit crabs. In most places, the sand is soft and the water is clear and warm. It’s not quite on par with the best beaches in the world Ike Grand Cayman, but it’s cheap and easy to get to from Canada and the US. Give it a try!Visited January 2020Traveled with familyWritten January 14, 2020

The water is shallower closer to the beach, which makes it perfect for swimming, catching waves with boogie boards, or just wading out. The water was like bath water warm in April. Boogie boards can be purchased at the Paradise Village grocery store in the mall by Starbucks. Resorts aren't loaning them out because of Covid. You can walk a long way in firm sand by the water. Most resorts have a tiki hut with chairs for each person/party. The water on the north side of channel is cleaner usually than the Vidante side because the river flows over to the south most often. Great location, staff and facilities. Used the pool, grill, walked to restaurants, atm and markets.
Played golf at El Tigre great course with length, water and bunkers if the greens weren't enough.

We know Mexico quite well, having lived in Mexico for over 5 years. The beach in a Nuevo Vallarta is especially nice and safe. There is no sharp drop-off shelf so one can walk far into the ocean. Also, there is good surf action for boogie boarding. The sand is fine and of a much lighter Color than in Puerto Vallarta. Paragliding and Seadoos are also available. And of course the not to be missed “Beach Merchants”. However we find them friendly, smiling and not pesky.

On the beach there are jetski, parasailing and fishing charter operators that hang out with their toys and people of all ages enjoy rentals and adventures.
Water skiing in the afternoon would be difficult due to the typical onshore breezes causing small choppy waves on top of the gentle ground swell waves. I don't think I have seen more than a few water skiers, probably starting from within the marina or houses on connecting canals.
At the marina, other adventure operations offer various trips into and around the Bay of Banderas.

Hi Fellow Travellers,
We leave for Mexico next week (March 26, 2019). We were originally going to stay in Sayulita with our three kids (10, 12 &14), but have walked away from our fairly expensive booking based on the current sewage issue and worries about sickness. I'm not sure if it was the right decision, but we get very little time off and the overwhelming number of posts regarding Sayulita's current issues really scared me. So...this trip has suddenly become a lot more expensive than originally budgeted for. My questions:
1. There wasn't a lot of options in our price range for last minute accommodation for a family of 5. We have tentative booked Paradise Village. Any suggestions with regard to which tower we should request? Any tips at all with regard to this place?
2. My older kids are keen to spend much of day bodysurfing. Is the beach in front of Paradise Village decent for that. Are there other beaches nearby that you'd recommend? They're strong swimmers, but I worry about undertows and rips.
3. I was hoping to do a day trip to the Marietas with Chicca Locca tours. Now that we're losing so much money, we are likely not able to do. On Viator, daily adult rates are $136 each. Does anyone know if it's cheaper to book once we arrive?
4. Thanks very much. SUCH an admittedly first world problem and I appreciate everyone's time and thoughts.

Hi,
I am not familiar with that place so I cannot answer you based on that unfortunately. I stayed in the hard rock resort and it was absolutely amazing with boogie boards to rent for free as well as paddle boards and kayaks if you think your kids would be into that! The beach is amazing, there will be flags to alert you of the safety of swimming with green being perfectly fine, yellow slightly wavy and red very wavy. I personally am a lifeguard so I found no issue swimming out with my brother on a red flag day but there definitely is a current. On the marietas I have heard that although it’s beautiful some people are not satisfied as if the tide is high the beach will almost completely be gone. I recommend rhythms of the night (savia), or even whale watching was amazing. Also, las caletas is beautiful for a day trip with crystal clear water. It may be cheaper when you get to the resort or they may try to offer you to listen to a presentation to get an excursion for free. No problem!! :)

Are mosquitos a big problem in the Nueovo vallarta area. They don’t bother me but my husband gets bitten.
We are going mid January

I don't think it is a major issue at all. I can't say there is none, though. Better taking after-bite stuff in case :)
Bonjour Luc, Que voudriez-vous savoir à propos de cet endroit ou cette activité?
